Edit: She no longer uses the pad but also doesn't have accidents...So I'm not sure if she's just finicky or what. Will try spraying on rocks and inside like others have mentioned

I got a grass patch for my patio (you could try Astrotuf) and added a centerpiece since he likes to lift his leg and spray on AN OBJECT. In my case I used a six inch rock but you could get cute with a little fire hydrant, statue of an unsavory president, etc. Then I added a spritz of this stuff on and around the rock. At first he smelled it. Then rolled in it. It definitely got his attention! Then the hind leg went up and bam! I apply 1-2 sprays in the rock while he’s watching and he (usually) pees in that exact spot immediately. Great product!

Also just pay more attention after food and seeing if there is any sign for pooping and then direct puppy to the toilet cage. My puppy held his poo for the whole first day and barked a lot in the cage before finally pooped out. After I gave him the treats, he knew it was encouraged. So he started to pee more and poo there.
Now i leave the toilet cage door open when I let puppy out of the cradle. He is willing to go to this toilet cage by himself!
