She was having a difficult time gripping objects and this rattle absolutely held up to the hype about it being easy to hold! She didn’t express a real interest in using it until 9 weeks old but she will bring it to her mouth and grasp it with both hands now (10 weeks)
Pros: happy with the price, the size, it is lightweight and easy to move around, nice looking design
Con: not a very loud rattle. You need to shake vigorously in order to get any sound. This may not be stimulating enough for some babies and the motion needed may prove startling to some.
My advice: practice showing your baby this rattle each day for a couple of minutes and help them by gently placing it in an open palm, once they have a little grip on it, move the rattle gently to show them they can create the noise. This may take a little while but keep at it! They will get there eventually! If your baby is more of a sensory seeker, this rattle might not cut it sound-wise.

My least favorite things about Oballs is they are annoying to clean. It never feels like a wipe down can cover all the angles of the mesh.
We started out with the Oball shaker, but quickly ordered the Oball Jingle and Shake Pal and the Oball Rollin' Rainstick Rattle once we realized how well she could grasp them.
The highlights for the Oball Shaker
The good- Super light and portable. The smaller plastic webbing makes it easy for little fingers to grab. It has become a staple throw in for our diaper bag.
The bad- The "shake" in the shaker is a bit of a let down. It is so muted that our daughter hardly responds to it.
For rattling... No, not good. It barely makes any noise at all. She has 3-5 different rattles and this is by far the worst. Not very entertaining for baby. Great for parents that don't want to hear rattles though.
For holding... Yes, finally something good to say! It's very easy for her to get her fingers in the holes to hold. So hopefully it will at least help with motor skills. 🤷🏻♀️
All in all, not a very great rattle or teether.
No, I definitely will never recommend gifting this to another mom.
One thing I really like about this one is that I can get down on the floor to play with her and put one end of it in my mouth and hold it with my teeth and shake my head around to make it rattle. She finds it absolutely HILARIOUS and grabs on the other end to try to shake it/me for more sound.
For just four bucks, I don't think you can go wrong. To this daddy, that's a small price to pay for something that can get some quality giggle time.

I have no idea why but this baby toy I purchased for my daughter when she was tiny has been a hit amongst her cousins and has been the subject of sibling brawls. So I bought another one. It's flexible, not too hard (which is perfect because these babies hold it comfortably when they're very small which means they're also too small to be able to avoid hitting their head when waving it around. But it doesn't hurt since it's very light). And great colours. The rattle part in the center is very gentle - not loud and grating. So if this accidentally falls when you've just spent two hours putting your baby to sleep, not to worry since it isn't loud enough to wake them.
