No More Team Challenge Seasons Please!

My husband and I love this show for the creative challenges and overall concept. This team challenge season lost me. It seems very contrary to creativity to expect all creative people to be able to function on a team... and as a viewer, I couldn't really get a handle on each designer's perspective and point-of-view. Also added a whole lot of drama and made it more of the kind of reality show I try to avoid. The talent pool seemed shallow this year as well, but not sure if that had to do with teams. (I mean - people who don't know basic design and sewing methods?) Almost gave up halfway through - but as people were eliminated it began to seem a little more like previous seasons and one could get a better idea of a designer's aesthetic. I applaud them for trying something new, but hope next season doesn't go with teams or some other kind of season long twist.

Banal .. old .. not up to your best work

Where do I begin .. not the best season of PR .. and once again one designer who should have gone home WAY back stays on and on and on and on .. Patricia . the politically correct candidate. Jusges comments sounded like they were convincing themselves she had talent for .. something close to designing clothes. If you are familiar with western wear . been there done that . I have seen countless items like Patricias in the 80s and 90s and as far back as 70s hippydom. Again . what were the producers thinking . what were the judges thinking .. they took out better designers and replaced them with a token . it's a slap in the face to designers and to Native Americans who do not DO Native American costume design . which is what Patricia presented. The fact that her work often brought the team down . was also a slap in the face to the participants. I think outfits like Project Runway . need to decide . .do they want to think OUTSIDE the box .. fine a really talented ethnic designer .. who moves along because of talent or do they want to pretend someone with marginal talent is a big deal. That is not only political correctness run wild it's an insult to Native Americans. The winner . .deserved it .. but as I said this was not the best PR ever. and what makes the WORST seasons are when it is obvious the audience is being played for schmucks with politically correct choices or the seasons where the biggest bastard or worst tempered female moves into the final shows. Disappointed and I paid for the episodes and now wished I had not. Bummer season . total bummer.

Easiest way to watch an entertaining show!

After many seasons of Project Runway we know what to expect, and this season does not disappoint. This time, the designers have to work in teams which adds a bit of drama and intrigue. The designers are talented. Heidi, Tim, Nina etc. areas fun as always. The fill-in for Michael Kors, Zac Posen, seems quite a serious young man, and though he lacks the chemistry Mr. Kors has with the ladies, he has plenty to add. By the end, you find you're not missing Mr. Kors quite as much.

As for the format, watching through Amazon, I loved it. As soon as they are available, I can just click and watch. So easy and I didn't miss a thing.

All around, highly recommended.

I hadn't been watching this show all along, I see the appeal of it now. I find it very interesting to see how designers come up with ideas and make them into clothing, that is a very cool, yet grueling process, especially when you are in a competition. I think one thing that they emphasize is team work and how it is very common place in the design world and the world in general. Project Runway really is a good example of how you need to work with individuals and groups of people in the work force, regardless of commonalities and/or differences.

The show has also inspired me to pull out my sewing machine and get started on some overdue sewing patterns I have!

Disappointment!!!!!

Did not like the designers having to be part of a team for the whole season. In my opinion, this twist stifled their own individuality and creativity. I know that in the real business world one has to learn to collaborate with others but, being a designer is a career that requires one to dig deep within oneself and if there is someone else interfering with this process, then frustrations rise and the process stops. One could tell that, for the most part, the designers lost their spark and looked defeated after these team challenges. Season 11 lost a couple of designers who never got a chance to express and show their own aesthetics due to the other designers who wanted and got their own way. In a way, this season reinforced the wrong values and attitude... "if you are not selfish and loud, your design ideas will never see the light of day." A couple of team challenges within the season is very appropriate but, please, NEVER DO THIS TYPE OF TWIST FOR THE ENTIRE SEASON!!!!!! Season 11 was such a let down and such a disappointment... no wonder Lifetime and Hulu do not have it available to watch through their app.

My favorite show

I've been watching Project Runway since it began and I still love it more than anything I watch.

Season 11 was more fun because it was "teams" and so there was more interaction between designers and more community
than ever on the long-running show.

I really love Heidi and Nina and felt Zac Posen was a good change from Michael Kors. Lots of interesting star judges too.

Love to actually see the designers working and love the judging.

Worst season IMHO

I'm not really liking the season much this year... #11 is not only the team-thing full-time, but worse than that the designs are uninspiring. The team-thing is my least favorite of the challenges, as it is full of conflict... so an entire season of this is painful.

And if that wasn't enough, this season's shows are popping up real late here at Amazon Instant (well after its competitors already have the new episodes up and on sale), so I've cancelled the season pass.

I miss Tim and Heidi! When does the Amazon show start with the two of them? NOT SOON ENOUGH!
Can I just say Season 11 Episode 5 the fact that Patrician is "SAFE" is such a joke! Do they not have EYES? They took their eyeballs out and threw them on the floor when her model was walking by, that's right. That is the only way the masterpiece of leather craftsmanship done in like a few hours? I hope someone washed the eyeballs off before they popped those suckers back in!
