Creative, imaginative show for those who prefer creative challenges as opposed to just drama
Verified purchase
Always an interesting and fun show. My husband and I dont like the shows with a ton of drama, where they follow the contestants home and focus more on the drama at the house/ fake romances, etc. than the actual challenges. We also prefer shows where people are creating things or building things as opposed to just focusing on silly plot lines that focus on peoples day to day lives. We'd rather watch something be created than people tearing each other down.
As with all the other seasons, the challenges are fun and interesting and the amount of imagination and WORK it takes to create such things in such a short amount of time is amazing.
We love this show and have followed it from the beginning. This season is no different :) I recommend it to anyone who enjoys watching the creative process- in any kind of artistic form- but especially if you enjoy fashion.

Great season. I loved the fact that I could finally understand the difference between creative artistry and impeccable craftsmanship. (Superstar designers HIRE impeccable craftsman.) You'll see one contestant, whom I adored as a personality, execute nearly every garment perfectly. This designer can whip up a couture gown in a few hours. Amazing. But you'll also witness the pure genius of another designer. Inventive. Creative. Surprising. (And this designer has excellent technique as well. His finished garments are runway ready.) There's a great villain. She's only second to the guy who won the first season and was mean to another contestant's mother. There's a surprising upset near the end. So all in all, I loved this season. So much so, I'm about to watch it again immediately. Enjoy.

Show is true to form - still watch it with anticipation

As with any project runway season there are going to be designers that you like and those you cannot wait until they get eliminated from the competition. Season 13 I'm pretty much hoping for elimination of 50% or more at the end of each episode. This group seems pretty untalented as a whole. That being said I still love the show and the format. Some of the design challenges are getting really cool. I just don't like that each week I can never tell whether or not Amazon is going to have the latest episode available or not. For some dumb reason the August 14th episode is marked unavailable. If you read the explanation available it's just a whole lotta non-sense that doesn't give an actual reason you can't download, purchase, rent or stream it.

Sturm und Drang Season!

Strong personalities clashing, accusations and snarky asides, hissy fits, and rivers of tears (both crocodile and real); Season 13 designer contestants were a show-producer's dream! Diehard fans were rewarded with plenty of human drama; it's not for the fashions alone we tune in. Tim Gunn was especially busy calming the meltdowns off the runway this season -- he is their "Yoda" It is a pleasure to watch his mentoring style. With heartfelt concern and respect for the troubled contestant, he gives honest, valuable advice, and encourages moving forward with renewed self-confidence.

I am not a fan of reality TV in general but this show is always interesting to watch. The designers are so talented and creative and it is fascinating to watch them practice their craft. And then there are times you can only say "What were they thinking?" I find it a great show to watch when one is tired of all the negative/violent stuff they show on TV. It is also fun to watch with tweens or teens if they are at all interested in fashion/design etc.

This season isn't quite as interesting as some previous seasons. Some of the judges' decisions are incomprehensible and all in all the designers seem less interesting (not their fault-maybe how it's edited?) Tim Gunn is still the star of the show and I really like Zac Posen. The guest judges have seemed more interested and involved in their judging although as I've already said, some of the winning designs are shockers. Still one of my favorite shows and I watch it every week.

the nice one is given 2 extra chances

This show has seriously declined in recent seasons and this season the depths to which it has sunk are truly shocking. Gone are the days of true design and fashion which has taken a backseat to silly producer driven reality tv drama and foisted narratives. The mean designer is eliminated, the nice one is given 2 extra chances. Big whoop. But I almost could not bring myself to even feel outrage over the obviously warped judging because no one produced much of anything other than mall clothes and as Zach would say: "the chic banal". PR has become a ridiculous fast sewing contest with ridiculous time constraints (red carpet dress in one day anyone?) and a lot of useless BS producer leveraged/manufactured drama. Instead of more spinoffs can't we have the old PR of seasons 1,2,3,4? Sad and transparent, this show has little or nothing to do with fashion anymore.

Okay, I'll confess. I give every Project Runway season 4 stars! As an artist, I appreciate that such diverse and talented designers are brought together to create art under unique and stressful circumstances. Because, who doesn't like a little drama with their art? If you appreciate spontaneous creativity while watching artists rise to their potential and beyond, this show is for you.
