This is my little Red Wagon!

I took ownership of my Son's little Red Wagon when he moved out of the house. His Grandparents had bought it for him. I would put my bags of groceries in it from the trunk of the car and wheel it to the back door when we did not have an attached garage. I used it for many other chores as well. That wagon must have lasted over 30 years! Guess you can say it was built well. I used to tease my Husband, cause he has all these "Manly Work Tools" and when I would go to get the Wagon for me to use for something, I would find he had it filled with "his stuff" Well, the wagon eventually got rusted out (when he left it out in the rain from time to time) and the wheels went crooked, he said its time to throw it out. Well we were married just over 42 years and Christmas was coming up and he asked me to make my Christmas list out. After being married for that long, there really wasnt a whole lot I needed or wanted. I missed my Red Wagon though. So, I put that on my Christmas List. He laughed and said, I am not going to buy you a Red Wagon for Christmas, I said, "Okay, fine, if you dont buy it for me, I will buy it for myself". Well, when Christmas came around in 2012, when I woke up on Christmas morning, there was the Little Red Wagon under the Christmas Tree with a big red bow on it. LOL!! He got the biggest Hug from me and we laughed.

I treasure that wagon, it has come in so handy, we have a very long driveway and now I put all the Trash Bags in the Wagon and pull the wagon down to the end of the very long drive to put into the Garbage Container.

My Husband passed away a few months later and now everytime I use or see that wagon, I think of that Christmas and the wonderful man who gave it to me and it makes me smile. Now, its a very special "Little Red Wagon" .

A couple of tips for assembly

I've wanted a Radio Flyer wagon to use in my garden for a long time, and am really pleased with the quality of this wagon. This wagon has worked well to haul heavy bags of dirt and mulch around my yard. The rubber tires help it roll along the grass really smoothly.

Based on other reviews, I was concerned about the possibility of damage during shipping, but I found the wagon to be exceedingly well packed. There were sections of honeycombed cardboard packed all the way around the red wagon, and those provided plenty of protection to avoid dents or scratches in shipment.

Working alone, I was able to complete the assembly in 50 minutes. The instructions are very clear about what goes where. I did have some difficulty at two steps. In step 6, it says to "tighten until just snug," but I found that I had to tighten as hard as I could to get the hole to open up enough to insert the cotter pin. (As a woman, my idea of "just snug" is probably different that the manufacturer's.) In the final step, #12, I had difficulty maintaining the alignment of the rubber safety ball with the handle and the part that attaches to the wagon. What finally helped was to use masking tape to hold the rubber ball in the correct alignment in the handle, so that I could then put them with the wagon part without moving them.

This Radio Flyer Classic Red Wagon takes me back a good 65 years to the wagon I had like this on the farm. It was my go-to vehicle as a kid, and you would not believe how versatile it was for me as a kid! Now, at the age of 70+, I have purchased this wagon. What for? I wanted something that I could use to move salt blocks for my water softener from my car to the lower level of my home, to enable me to easily move yard waste bags (heavy and bulky) out to the curb for the city to collect, haul heavy items that I no longer can easily carry, and to function as a means for me to remain in my own home for as long as I can. I looked at all types of carts, both on Amazon and in local big box stores, and the costs and the fact that most of them had inflatable tires told me that I did not want to make my life more complicated than it is. This wagon is built like a battleship! As I was putting this wagon together, I actually found myself giggling with delight! My inner kid came back to life!

Love my red wagon. I've got big wheelbarrows, and a plastic garden cart that's just annoying. I needed something to carry plants, pots, and tools around with and this is the ticket. Plus it has the bonus nostalgia factor.
Mine arrived very well packaged. It took me about half an hour to put together (better with two people), and as I picked up the fourth wheel to attach it--I saw that it had a bad dent in it, right next to the hub. I managed to get it on, but I suspect it will fail or rust before its time, so I tried contacting Amazon for a replacement wheel. Apparently my only choice was to take it apart, repackage it, and send it back--which would take hours!
So I went online and filled out a request directly with Radio Flyer, offered to send a photo of the dented wheel--and 3 days later my wheel arrived, no questions! Yay for Radio Flyer!

Absolutely the BEST wagon anywhere by any company!! If you have little ones or grandkids, you NEED this wagon! It rolls like a dream, turns on a dime and is so easy to pull!! It’s so sturdy and the sides are higher than a regular size wagon, so that makes the little tots safer too. I take my 10 grandkids on wagon rides every time they’re at my house, which is weekly! And it’s a hundred times more stylish than those other plastic (yuk) wagons. It’s like owing a Cadillac! My only regret?? Not having one when my own kids were little. 🥲

Great little wagon and exactly what I needed. I am not a child but I needed something to roll around my yard and move small things from place to place. I have mobility problems and having to make numerous trips back and forth was difficult. Then I remembered the little wagon my mother used to use. No place around here had them, so I went online. It took me a little bit to get it put together because of my mobility and balance issues, but a person without problems would not have any difficulties. The directions are clear and as long as you have the tools listed you would be all set.

This wagon appeared like the original upon arrival. However after one season the bed was cracked around the top edge and everything felt very loose when pulling it. The handle is very short and does not curve over the bed of the wagon as it should. The frame is not heavy duty and after 3 summers it is in the dump. Only thing good about this wagon is the All Terrain Wheels...they are well made and held up well. Used by 3 small children under 5years of age. We would not purchase this wagon again. Quite disappointed in the quality and we would not recommend purchase of it. Saved the wheels and tossed the rest. Sad to, because how many Grandparents grew up with one of these? Would have been nice to pass on such a gift....but such is life I guess.
