DO NOT BUY/Leaches color from clothes.

STAY AWAY!! Soaked some running clothes according to garment care label and the instructions on the Active Green sack. Water was very gray, and I thought “wow,didn’t know there was this much funk in my clothes” like others on the site. Next I soaked underwear including three black pairs (Sports underwear) in my plastic laundry tub as part of a test. These were virtually new panties but all had been previously washed and yet the water after a 45 minute soak was almost black. Drained the tub and moved the laundry to the washer and finished the load like usual. I Noticed that the drained laundry tub was tie dye stained in black (see pictures taken after I tried to wash stain away with bleach) and so were a number of the garments. In other words, the dirty water presented as gunk is actually color leaching out of the fabric which then transferred to my other garments. When finished my under garments had a grayish cast, basically damaged. Reached out to Active Green for simply a refund of their product, was given a hard time. I was also told that it’s not for sensitive fabrics (what?? This was running underwear, not lacy little nothings), was instructed to separate my clothes to prevent color transfer and to not use softener (never do!) Historically I was diligent (to the extreme) with separating clothes but have found it to be largely unnecessary with my running apparel, but apparently not with Active Green. SAVE YOUR MONEY AND YOUR CLOTHES AND BUY OXI CLEAN or use a bit of vinegar.

I’ve tried baking soda. I’ve tried vinegar. I’ve tried specialty big-name soaps that claim they help clean and disinfect athletic gear. I think I’ve gotten the smell out, and then…BAM! It’s baaaaaaaack! 😂
That being said, I decided to give this all-natural enzyme filled product a try, with dismal hope.
I put my hubby’s athletic gear in the bathtub, along with two of my nightgowns (once dark, one light - testing the colorfastness of this product), put two generous scoops in the water, and let it soak.
Oh my goodness. 😳 I came back two hours later to transfer the clothes to our washer, and was happily/disgustingly shocked to see that the water was as dark as tea! 👍🏻 Wowza! And these are clothes that I regularly wash with allllll of the other so-called awesome cleansers!
I checked my light pink nightgown, and am happy to report that there was absolutely no color transfer from any of the dark clothes (somebody had mentioned that in a previous review, so I was a big worried).
All in all, I recommended this product a gazillion percent. We will be using it as a soak, not as a regular detergent. But, I’m thinking at least once a week, my hubby’s athletic gear is gonna get sooooooo clean! LOVE this! Buy it right this minute. You won’t regret it.
