1. On bright scenes when there is a panning shot (from left to right or vice versa) there was vertical and horizontal grid of led lights that could be seen. I believe this is called vertical banding (not the most tech savy with terms so please excuse). For example When watching hockey, or playing games like Red Dead Redemption 2 it was very distraction and took me and others out of enjoying the content. It’s a shame as when the scene was static the picture quality was really good. But this TV was not meant for just viewing still pictures.
2. The other issue with the TV was dirty screen. In certain scenes it was also very noticeable.
3. Clouding/blooming when there is a dark scene with an object on a certain part of the screen. With the full array local dimming I wouldn’t have expected it to be so bad in a tv of this price point. I have other Samsung TVs that are edge lit that had less blooming.
4. Lastly the processing on dark scenes is not the best. Sometimes the TV would overcompensate and make certain scenes too dark.
And as a side family members who normally don’t have a eye for these type of picture issues noticed it right away independent of me saying anything.
It’s a shame that this tv did not live up to my expectations as I was really looking forward to it. All the TVs in our house are Samsung, but after getting this TV with this many issues for the price ($5k purchase price) I am going to make the jump into the LG OLED world as those TVs get great reviews (despite burn in risk).
Maybe I got a bad model, but I would not recommend this TV. I hope this review helps!
CORONA crazy, so streaming services are reducing resolution... the inputs are on the right side of the tv, 5' further from my A/V rack. I should have longer and higher bandwidth hdmi cables here within a couple days. Then I can really see what the 75" q800t is capable of.
I was tempted to buy the 2019 90 series, but I felt the extra green was worth paying for the hdmi 2.1 inputs. 2020 was a good year for TVs. I hope to own this one 10 years like my old plasma.
Final note for now, I really like the remote and I'm digging the interface.
Update
I've now watched several HDR 4k discs and found a few 4k movies to stream, like Trolls 2 last night. Best family movie night yet. Bigger is better. The bump from1080p to 4k is quite noticeable in my front row. The HDR is... probably even more impressive than the resolution upgrade.
I feel like HDR is the next generation of Darbee. Anyone remember that? I have it on my oppo blu ray player and it makes colors pop. When there's something shiny on screen... it's so bright.
I may unplug my roku. This tv does practically everything itself. For kicks, the coaxial input is hooked up to my circa 1995 atari jaguar, heh. The lil ones are having a blast with my old games. I am having a blast with 4k HDR!!!
Only drawback, the box was too big to get into my attic so I had to make room in the garage. That is a drawback I can happily live with.
Update #2; 11 SEP 2020
Wow, I feel bad for the consumers who had bad experiences. I've got a couple degrees in Optics so I know a bit about what is capable of being observed by the human eye. My TV has continued to be flawless. The more I tinker with it, the more options/capabilities I uncover. I may have small regrets on getting the 75" instead of the 82", but that was a $2k price difference in the spring! As I said, it's noticeably bigger than the 65" Panasonic I replaced. This set exceeds the plasma in every possible way. Now it's time to go from 7.2 to adding 4 ceiling atmos channels!!! I don't deserve my wife. She's an angel
Oh, I also bumped my trusty ole Denon X4000 up to a new 2020 X3700. At the time, Denon, only, supported hdmi 2.1 8k with their AVRs. There may be more now, but I love the familiarity of the new Denon. It powers my 4 surrounds. A 60ish pound Emotiva 3 channel handles my front sound stage. I picked up another Emotiva amp to handle the four ceiling Atmost speakers. No doubt over kill, but that's what hobbies are for!
I'm really disappointed with this model.
I chatted with a Samsung Expert on Samsung Website, her advice was: "return the device". I considered many people don't understand Amazon is an International ONLINE store, so many of thing could go outside the USA, so "return it" is not an alternative after pay shipping and taxes.
I have written this and expecting someone to come and saying "Alexa is not authorized to use in the country where TV is now", well it is authorized. Or "update firmware" I did, or "Alexa doesn't support the country language" it does!! is Spanish.
Would I recommend it? I guess all new device brings immature software, however advertising "with Alexa built-in" could be a false statement

Ok!!...I have a new hope today.....I got it, I have Alexa on, as well as Disney plus, HBOmax and all my on line subscriptions. it take a lot of work to understand that Samsung discriminate people from Central and south america, no matter 3k payed for a TV
Now I gonna fight to get a better picture quality... Update will come soon

Well, Today after two months a black cloud 4 x 4 inches is on the screen. Almost without use 2-3 hours 3 times a week, I decided to watch two movies when I noted it, it ruined my Friday night. All probably moves to fix it were done, Unplugged for 30, 60 seconds and the 10 minutes. Start it from button a keep pressed it for 30 seconds, and finally total reset, nothing corrected it.
Would I recommend to a friend or family to buy one? Short answer: No
This Qled Q800T will probably decor my garage
