A surprisingly clever movie hiding inside a dumb raunchy comedy

This reminded me a lot of Blazing Saddles, in that its humor is based to a large extent on being as offensive as possible to the largest number of groups, but not in a nasty way. Plus lots of over-the-top sex jokes and stupid puns. The anthropomorphizing of the food/products based on its ethnicity or function was funny and clever. (Like, the douche was a real douche). But it was also kind of the same joke over and over again, and would probably have been better if it were at least a half hour shorter. Also, I don't think that the filmmakers really understand religion and spirituality. For a while it looked like the point of the movie would be some kind of spiritual quest, but they didn't really follow through on that. Still all in all, this is quite good.

Low brow comedy that's actually about questioning faith

I remember seeing this in the theater and I was not ready for it. They instantly introduced you to what the movie is going to be like in the opening song which includes cursing, Nazi jokes and hot dogs and buns talking about having sex after they’re bought by a customer. I should’ve known this was going to be some low brow humor since Seth Rogan is one of the main voices. The gist of the movie is that a sausage/Seth Rogen, a bun/KristinWiig, a bagel/Edward Norton and some lavash/David Krumholtz explore their grocery store after they escape their shelves. It actually is really funny because it’s so over the top. Not only that but the theme of the movie is questioning faith and beliefs. Yes a movie with a bunch of food cursing and talking about sex turns out to be dispelling religion. All the products were told a myth about what happens to them when they’re bought but Rogan and company want to find the truth.

The ending is simply incredible, such a masterclass in the realm of film. Nothing is more thought-provoking and awe-inspiring in such an ending. This makes me question if God is real because of how good this ending was, simply perfect in every conceivable way. It's also very motivational for those who don't get any play, as with Barry's deformed sausage and the deformed bun. Just incredible. If you can, this movie is so amazing that you can skip straight to the ending and not miss a single beat *wink wink*. #NewTiktikTrend.
