Crafted with a European recipe and baked with sourdough, millet, quinoa and honey, we believe it is the best tasting gluten-free bread. This bread is gluten free, wheat free, egg free and lactose free. Ideal for toasts, sandwiches, and snacks. Includes two 14.1 oz loaves of bread. Made with non-gmo ingredients. Ingredients include: water, rice starch, sourdough (water, rice, flour), corn starch, agave syrup, sunflower oil, soy protein, modified cellulose, phylum seed husks (vegetable fiber), guar gum, millet flour, yeast, sugar, quinoa flour, salt, citrus fiber, honey, calcium citrate, niacin, iron, thiamine, riboflavin. Schar's Gluten Free Bread is the best GF bread ever, period. I don't know why Udi is so popular, except maybe that it's commonly available in some places, but I think the majority of Udi's products are pretty gross. Udi's texture is usually either gritty or too-dense and cake-like. Not so with Schar! Schar's bread is perfect, takes just like regular artisan bread. If you're used to Wonderbread.. this isn't gonna do it for you. It's not soft as marshmallow floof. Schar has a nice firm texture without being too dense or cake-like. It holds up well for sandwiches and toast. You can even make sandwiches the day before, and eat them the next day, and the bread is still firm and not soggy. We put mayo and mustard, and even cucumber on it! Schar doesn't disintegrate like other brands of bread. The only negative thing I can say is that sometimes there will be a large air bubble (or more than one) in a loaf, making some of the slices less usable. This has actually been less of a problem for me in recent years, although it's still a bit of an issue. Still absolutely FANTASTIC GF bread, highly recommended!

Usually this bread is reliable but once in a while you get a loaf with air bubbles in the middle as a result of baking. That makes the slices bad for sandwiches which is mainly how I use the bread. See for yourself in the photo.

Things I like: it's gluten free.☺💗 It is wrapped very well...no squashing, no holes, no out of dates, very fresh, and delicious. Fortunately my double order (two packs of two each), had NONE of the negative issues so many others had, so perhaps the issues are resolved well. The price is terrific.

To two interesting concerns I don't understand: why WOULDN'T all gluten free breads be frozen anyway? To me, it's mandatory as a matter of course. And I always toast my gf bread, too, whether I'm eating it as a meal supplement or sandwiching.

Good product, don't buy the 2 pack

This review is only for the 2 pack sold as "add on" item. 1) the bread only had a few days left in expiration date 2) the bigger issue is the bread is made in a "puffed" up package that keeps it fresh. When the bread was bundled in 2 packs the inner packaging was popped, the bread was smashed - not worth the $1 savings per loaf. Buy the 8 pack. As for the product, my kids are gluten free, egg free and nut free and we are grateful to find a bread they can / want to eat. We were driving from store to store buying out their supplies until I found it on Amazon. Yes, the slices are small and it is pricey, but worth every cent for the product and convenience for our family.

I usually LOVE this bread and have placed several orders in the past, but the last order I received NONE of the loaves were OK. 2 had been vacuum sealed by squishing the bread into a BRICK!!! It was not usuable. and 2 of them had the vacuum seal broken so that they were squashed when they were plastic wrapped for shipping. At the price of each loaf of bread, I was out ALL of my money as they all had to be thrown away. Could have used them for breadcrumbs, but that's pretty pricey!

Have just attempted to reorder and if they do not arrive OK (sloppy preparation for shipping), I will be cancelling my subscription.

Although I have an address in the U.S. this bread then had to be shipped to barbados where I physically live. I was very skeptical to make this purchase as I was worried about the freshness of the bread. I decided to give it a go anyway. The bread was delivered to my American address in September 30th, delivered to barbados on October 11th and I collected it today (reasons beyond my control). I've just opened the package and checked the bread. Omg, it is fresh, it is tasty and I have no complaints about it. The expiry date is at the end of December this year. I've missed bread since I am both gluten and egg intolerant but thanks to Schär, I have my life back. I will definitely order again.

Best GF bread out there

Overall, this is a great bread if you’re gluten free, and have allergies to milk and egg. This is probably one of the most ‘realistic’ breads we have found.
There are a couple of drawbacks. It’s expensive (not just on amazon). Sometimes we’ll find large holes in the loaves making many slices unusable. Sometimes, they will vacuum seal the bags so much it smooshes the loaves and that makes the whole loaf basically unusable. That’s probably the most frustrating as the slices become this 2x2 inch dense piece of gross. This is still my go to option for GF bread, though.

The two loaves I receive expire on 8/26. Received on 8/22. Will have to freeze one loaf for sure and then toast it. Which defeats the whole purpose of buying Schär bread. Not happy. I live too far away from a post office to make returning it worth my while.
