I really like Schar products, so I tried these. They are small individually wrapped chocolate covered sponge cakes with some sort of cream centre. They were dry, so I checked the due date, but it was ok. The chocolate was a bit waxy. The flavour, such as it was, was just ... meh. I can see buying these if you need a to-go-snack sized sponge cake for whatever reason. But these are not something I'd buy because I miss the flavour and have an urge for more.
Perhaps if the cakes had been moister or if the cream filling was bigger, the cake would have been better. BEWARE these contain sorbitol which is a laxative.

Simply divine. Each individually-wrapped snack cake is like a lovely little Birthday Cake made especially for you.
Each consists of two layers of vanilla cake, a creamy but delicate filling, with a lovely drizzle of chocolates. Thank you Schar!
As an adult-diagnosed Celiac, these snack cakes take me back to the days when I could consume a Hostess Ho-Ho or Ding-Dong without remorse.. carefully peeling back the foil, nibbling-off the chocolate, rolling-out the Ho-Ho or popping the top off the Ding-Dong to expose the creamy filling, and slowly consuming each & every bit... I'm still experimenting with 'how to best experience a Sch'nacks cake'. But with a little practice, I'm confident that I will discover the method appropriate for each special occasion!

My Favorite Chocolate Treat

Eating gluten free for over a decade now, I can tell you it wasn't easy in the early days. When I crave chocolate, I reach for these small, fluffy, cream filled cakes. They taste amazing! These Schar Bars (as we call them) are made in Italy and are top quality. Make sure to buy them in a store, or order them during winter only - as the will (and do) melt sitting inside a hot UPS truck in the warmer months. Each time I order them online, no matter what store, they usually arrive mushy & stuck to their wrappers. That means they go in the refrigerator to harden up and they still taste okay.

Ordered these as they came highly recommended by a friend who’s celiac. They have a good flavor but are pretty dry. The size is smaller per cake than i imagined but is still a totally fine size. Like kid lunch snack size.
Will definitely be eating them all because they taste good and my options are limited at the moment (gluten intolerant breastfed baby) but probably wouldn’t buy again as there are other things out there.

I found other gluten free products from this line that I enjoyed a lot better but if you like hardly no taste and very little sweetness to your cakes then you might want to give this a try
