I bought myself a Bread Maker for Xmas this year. I was getting ready to throw it into the woods after a few different attempts at making basic breads and failing to get something decent to result. I even picked-out the place to heave it (in the thorns) so that I would never be tempted to use it again.

I had yeast packets in the 'fridge which were still well within the expiration date. It never worked, and they were not inexpensive.

I am not going to throw anyone under the bus as far as manufacturer of the packets that I was using, as it may have been stored poorly etc. but figured that I would NOT buy more yeast at the same supermarket. So I took a look on Amazon.

What a difference!

I have been making beautiful loafs of well-risen bread now. The cost is probably 1/20 (maybe more like 1/40) what the equivalent of those little packets. Never again with the crappy packets. I am probably making too much bread now, but the birds also love to have some snacks after Day #2 (I am not adding any preservatives).

This stuff is simply great. Nice resealable package, and a very smooth texture so it mixes well and performs well.

Do yourself a favor if you have one of these machines and use a good quality yeast.
