Stronger malt flavor than you get with Carnation or Ovaltine malted milk products. However, be aware that while Carnation and Ovaltine are formulated to dissolve in plain milk, this powder does not. It has to be used in an ice cream shake, or you can sprinkle it on ice cream.

I worked at a restaurant and we used these for making Malt Milkshakes. The restaurant made us use: a 2 oz cup; which is wayyyyy toooo muchhhhh......
I use 1-1.5 tablespoons, full for a large milkshake.

It taste excellent when you use the correct amount!!!!! You can use it for any flavor. Personally, I do: Vanilla ice cream, Hershey's chocolate, Recesses peanut butter syrup, and butterfingers smash up and sold at Walmart.

Unnecessary added sugar

My bad assuming it had no added sugar.
Without added sugar malted milk is considered a relatively healthy food and is good for workout recovery. And it tastes so good!
But this stuff is packaged in a Norman Rockwell style label, giving you (me) the impression of being like the old fashioned original recipes.
Because the sugar takes up ingredient space, the taste is weak..in order to enjoy it, you need to consume a large amount of empty calories .
Better they increase the price and reduce the sugar.
Will never buy again.

Very disappointed to see that it has ADDED SUGAR! I neglected to read the label before ordering. Carnation malted milk does not have added sugar so I will go back to that one. The malt flavor on this one is a little better than Carnation but I can't get that real soda fountain malt flavor out of either product. I'll keep trying, and next time read the label carefully before ordering.

In my youth the soda fountain cafes used a powdered malt (usually Horlicks) which created true malt flavored drinks in which you could watch the bubbles slow burst open while drinking. The malt was very difficult to blend into the drink, but when blended the drink was delicious! I hoped this product would be like that of many decades ago. Horlicks no longer provides that malt flavoring, called them and spoke to sales personnel, so I'm looking to replicate the flavor. Many may enjoy this product, but it didn't meet my expectations.

This is pretty close to the malt powder my mom used when I was a kid in the 70s. Most places that sell malts, they just taste like shakes. From reviews, most of the national brands don't have much of that old fashioned malt flavor. This does. I actually decided on this brand because the company is in Wisconsin & I am too. This makes delicious malts, and I'm gonna try some in pancakes soon, too. I will be ordering more of this, for sure. This stuff is so awesome!

My wife has been complaining for years about how no restaurants have a good chocolate melt. I was reading an interview of an old fashioned sofa shop in Cleveland, OH called Sweet Moses and male are their specialty.
I emailed the shop to see if they would share with me the brand of malt powder they use. They actually replied to me and told me they only use Soda Fountain Malted Milk Powder. I found it on Amazon and bought it.
