- Bluetooth: 5.2
- Connection: 75% more stable, 50% wider range and 125% faster transmission than last generation
- Pairing: Qualcomm TrueWireless Mirroring technology for improved robustness and seamless user experience
- Audio: Qualcomm aptX audio for consistent, high quality streaming over Bluetooth. Over 20% improvement on highs, mids and lows
- Call: Eighth generation Qualcomm cVc Echo Cancelling and Noise Suppression with support for dual mic configuration
- Consumption: Extremely low-power performance
- What is TrueWireless Mirroring?
Qualcomm TrueWireless Mirroring technology delivers robust, seamless connectivity for a truly immersive audio experience. With mirroring technology, only one earbud maintains the Bluetooth connection with the smartphone, while the secondary bud mirrors the connected bud. If a consumer removes the connected earbud, the secondary earbud assumes the connection with zero interruption. Or if the connection between the smartphone and mirroring bud is stronger than the connected bud, the connection will invisibly swap to ensure the best possible connection.
- How do the dual mic work?
One mic is for capturing your voice in the best way, the other is for reducing the ambient unwanted noise around, together with cVc 8.0 to optimize the call performance and make the earbuds perfect for conference calls, online courses and video/voice chat via apps, such as Zoom meetings, Skype.
Each earbud has 2 mics built in. You can make calls with single earbud or both together as needed.

Core Specs:
SPTA1: 14.5mm drivers, BT 5.0 Chip QCC3020, IPX4, Codecs: SBC, aptX, 600mAH (case), Dual Mics, Touch Control, USB-C
SL88: 10mm drivers, BT 5.0, IPX8, Codecs: SBC, AAC, Ear detection, Smart Noise Reduction, Dual Mics, Touch Control, USB-C
SPTA2: 14.2mm drivers, BT5.2 Chip QCC3040, IPX4, Codecs: aptX, AAC, SBC, CVC Noise Cancellation, Dual Mics, Touch Control, USB-C
Build quality
SPTA1 has the best construction of a case and feels premium.
The SL88 feels like a level down from the SPTA1 and is the biggest of the three.
The SPTA2 also feels like a level down but it is also the smallest of the three, which makes it more pocketable.
Earbuds
All three earbuds are comfortable to wear. I have used all three through a full charge and never have I felt any discomfort in my ears. Another reason I like semi-in-ear buds. The SPTA2 is the smallest that makes it even more likable.
Battery Life
SPTA1: 5 hours of playtime and 30 hours with case.
SL88: 5 hours and up to 25 hours with case.
SPTA2: 5 hours and up to 25 hours with case.
All of them delivered on their estimates of 5 hours however, I do have a very frustrating problem with the SL88. For some reason it does not always charge the right earbud. I have inspected the contacts on the bud and the case and cannot understand why it does not charge when needed. Maybe I got a faulty pair.
Connectivity
I did not have any trouble pairing any of the three. The only note is that the SL88 pairs the fastest as it will pair before you can get them in your ears but both SP buds pair very quickly. On the other hand, the SPTA2 seemed to keep a connection at a longer distance with the other two about 8’ shorter. The other thing I noticed with the SL88 is that when watching videos sometimes the sound was delayed which is annoying. I did not experience the lag with either SP buds.
Controls
Both SP earbuds were decent while the SL88 I had some issues with accidental touches. I think the SL88 is a bit more sensitive.
Sound
While they all sound very good, I think both of the SP models are better especially when listening at higher levels. This is probably due to the larger drivers. The SPTA2 to me is a cut above the other two models. It had a more smooth sound without strong jumps and had very clear voice and you can identify individual sounds.
When on calls, the SPTA2 is the best of the bunch. While wearing I can hear everyone on a Zoom call very clearly. I have also had my wife wear them and see how she sounded on the other end and was impressed. That is one of the advantages I think the stem based earbuds have is that the mics are closer to your mouth.
In conclusion
Why I was impressed with the SPTA1 you can tell the SPTA2 builds on this success. If you are looking for a great pair of earbuds at an affordable price while at work listening to music and taking Zoom calls, I highly recommend these especially over the Apple AirPods as they offer better sound at a fraction of the cost.

So, I went into this experience after having previosly tried out the Soundpeats *TrueBuds*, which, while they are a good product, they weren't ideal for what I MYSELF needed in a pair of buds. Fast forward to these bluetooth buds, the Soundpeats TrueAir 2's.... I grabbed this pair pretty much as soon as they were released, having very high hopes for the product. I really hoped Soundpeats had seriously come correct on this newly released set of semi in-ear buds, as I was REALLY in need of a pair of headphones I could not only enjoy Youtube, Netflix, Spotify and other media on, but a HIGH FIDELITY set of buds I could use for my important business calls, zoom meetings, note recordings and other critical commuinications with co-workers, friends and family members. I'm thrilled to be able to say that I believe I've found the single best bluetooth option for communicating with others available on the market!
The TrueAir 2's (TA2's) pleasantly surprised me with both their sound quality for music and media (output) as well as, and especially, their microphone quality for calls and other tasks (input). These buds have monstrous drivers (14.2mm!) and this aspect of the earbud design is most definitely reflected in the output sound quality. The sound quality is QUITE amazing, actually, especially considering that these buds don't have any rubber ear-tips that vacuum seal into the user's ear. The buds present a wide range of frequencies to the user, with a strong emphasis on the spoken frequency range. There is also a STRONG low-frequency range present in the soundscape, although, as aforementioned, the bass doesn't sound nearly as voluminous as it would if there was a rubber type seal for the buds into the ears (more on this, specifically, later...). What's quite amazing is, the bass frequencies are still quite audibly PRESENT, and the user can defintiely HEAR this bass shine through...it just doesn't jar the brain, since much of this bass is lost to there being no vacuum-seal to the user's ear. The bass is easily heard, and in quite nice quality...but it just sounds a bit "further away" ... is the best way I could describe it. Another excellent aspect of this bud is that they get QUITE loud... I'd say that they are easily comparable to the Soundpeats TrueFree 2 in volume, and likely over 102db, which is EXCELLENT.... Put it this way... they get loud enough that, at their highest volume, the normal person won't be able to stand it for very long.... and I, as a music NUT, really appreciate this. Its always been my opinion that the manufacturers of these buds should let the USER decide what is "too loud" or what is deemed to be safe for their ears.... since most of us like to be able to really JAM OUT, at least for short burts for certain tracks... so....BRAVO, Soundpeats!
The battery life is great, as I was easily able to get 4.5 hours on a phone call, but I wasn't able to test any longer due to time constraints as of late. I'm guessing they would easily get the 5 hours advertised and likely a shade more depending on specific usage habits, such as volume, distance from phone, type of media played or type of phone call, etc etc. I had 10-12% remaining after 4.5 hours, so there is definitely some leeway on the excellent battery life.
The call quality, as I mentioned before, is specfacular, cutting out a huge portion of outside-noises (background noise) on calls and making MY voice on the other end, apparently, sounding like I was using my phone handset - a nice, close-up, direct sound with hardly ANY lag at all. Additionally, my range was excellent and I was able to move about both floors of my house with no issues with my phone sitting in the corner of the basement. This is likely due to the high bluetooth spec (5.2!), aptX codec and apparently excellent antennas.
The touch controls are excellent, with full control being possible such as track forward/backward, volume up/down, play/pause/hangup/answer/switch lines all being avaiable with easy to use, intuitive controls that are sensitive, but not TOO sensitive.
This brings me to the physical SIZE of the buds...NICE! They are smaller than the original Airpods from apple, and smaller for-sure, than the TrueBuds from Soundpeats...but honestly the IDEAL size and (feather-like) weight for semi-in-ear buds if you ask me. A super-small, high fidelity package, that is for sure!
I also happen to LOVE the size of the charging case for these buds. Its SO TINY, measuring a shade over 2" x 2" by 3/4" ...! An absolute pleasure to pop into your pocket....better size-wise, than any of Soundpeats' other buds, in my opinion....as I don't mind charging my case every day or three but rather more greatly value a tiny case that is easy and unabtrusive to carry with me at ALL times. :) Great work on this one, Soundpeats!
Lastly, I wanted to throw something out there that some of you might find interesting and useful. Available on Amazon and other electronics websites, there exist tiny rubber eartips with "wings" designed for Apple's newer-style wired earbuds (that shape, specifically, which happens also to be the same shape as Airpods and, unsurprisingly, these Soundpeats TA2's!) for people who can't get that general shape to fit (or stay-put) in their ears. I am attaching a picture of some of these tips that I have had for YEARS sitting in one of my desk drawers that I tried on these buds and they helped me a LOT when I wanted to use these buds while being a bit more active to stay put in my ears. Not only this, but they enhance the sound quality quite a bit, especially in the bass arena! These might be of interest to some of you.... so, there you go.
Overall, this is a fantastic pair of buds, ideal for someone wanting an extremely high quality pair of buds that won't break the bank, and buds that will absolutely SHINE for business use cases and also for those who might simply prefer a bud to fit WITHOUT sealing into their ears super tight. (Make no mistake, these buds will stay put in your ears as long as you aren't doing cartwheels in your bedroom. I mean that. It just takes a few days actually EXPERIENCING the fit before you might TRUST it, but they do stay-put just fine. Surprisinly so, actually!) Excellent sound quality, excellent microphone quality, great fit, amazingly compact and travel-worthy charging case, great battery life, excellent background noise-cancellation, aptX lossless and stutter-free performance and they won't break the bank!
I'll take it, Soundpeats! Great work!

Top reviews from other countries

Days passed and slowly I got very disappointed.
I am a person who is on phone calls,12/24.
My first conversation was on the bus, I barely heard the other person and I said ok no problem I can solve this so I have installed a sound booster app, now everything was perfect from my side but unfortunately, on the other side of the line, I could not be heard, I was told to speak louder, and believe me I am a louder person.
So THEY CAN NOT BE USED IN PUBLIC FOR CONVERSATION.
To listen to music while you are at the gym with a booster installed, yes are good but again, having an app running in the background all time... the battery will run out in no time.
I prefer to use the wired ones, even the cheapest ones give better sound.
I don't know why they have so many good reviews. Because of those reviews, I got fooled too.

They're small, comfortable, the controls are touch activated (with the usual touch interface quirks), but the sound quality is very impressive for the price. The bass is a little muddy but still detailed enough, the midrange sounds a little accentuated and the high-end could be more sparkly but one has to remember these are meant to be budget wireless bluetooth buds but they punch way above their <£30 price would indicate. Soundpeat are definitely upcoming and one of the brands to keep a close eye on (may be the future FIIO of the headphone market?).

The first thing I noticed was that they were very comfortable in the ear. They were extremely light, which meant I could keep them in my ear as I go about my day without being bothered by them. I enjoyed the fact that I could still hear what was going on around me with these earbuds. I could pause the music and have a conversation while they were in my ear, which was a big plus.
The sound quality was much better than I had expected. The volume was loud too. I never had to go above %70 volume for my needs. I liked the fact that they support Aptx. I think that helps with the sound quality.
The microphones are very good for an earbud. I’ve tested a few other brands, and this had the best microphone by far. It did a pretty decent job of isolating the background noise (much better than the Aukey T21 shown in the photo). These have become my main earbuds for phone and zoom conversations now.
Before ordering these, I did a lot of research online, and I have to say I am not disappointed. The earbuds turned out even better than I had expected. I want to point out that Soundpeats quietly has updated these models, so mine had two extra features which I didn’t see in any of the reviews I read online:
1- There is now an additional light inside the case, which shows the level of the case battery.
2- The earbuds have a ‘game mode’, which dramatically reduces the audio lag. It can be activated by tapping the left earbud button three times. I tried this mode by typing on my phone (testing with the click sounds it makes), which improved the audio response time.
To sum up:
Pros:
- Small case and light earbuds. Stylish design. I like the LED lights.
- Very comfortable for long hours of use
- High sound quality
- Aptx support
- Best microphone I’ve tested for phone/zoom calls (provides decent background noise cancellation)
Cons (the only one I could think of):
- The lowest volume could still be too loud for bedtime use
If, like me, you are looking for a semi-open design (like the original AirPods), these are the best option out there!
