Spectrum is a very high quality brand for natural oils. In addition to being organic, this coconut oil comes in a glass bottle, which is far better than plastic. Oil is a natural solvent, and purchasing oil of any kind in a plastic bottle will cause chemicals from the plastic to leach into the oil.
I purchase the refined coconut oil vs. unrefined to use for skin care. (For use as a food, I get the unrefined.)
Coconut oil makes a terrific moisturizer. It also works well as a base ingredient in the homemade toothpaste I make for myself. I also use it as a base for therapeutic creams I make using essential oils.
