Wait until it's free to watch

This movie was not good. Save your money from renting and wait until it's free to watch. I'm actually glad I didn't waste any money in a theater to see this. It would've cost more between tickets and refreshments. From the acting to calling it a book from Saw with nothing in regards to the Saw movies. The recorded voice (normally from Tobin Bell) sound playback was not the original voice of John Kramer but something different that didn't even fit into the scary category of the Saw franchise. Almost a rip-off from the voice of Indrid Cold from Mothman Prohfices except Mothman did it better. The "Game" trap setups were all new, some were exciting, but again nothing worth pinning to win over the movie which relied heavily on Chris Rock who just couldn't make the movie convincing to watch. The ending was probably the worse and with no surprising twist that could make a sequel worth watching. At least they had the "Final Zepp" music from the original endings during the tie-up. That, a pig's head and a few mentions of John Kramer along with some still shots of him, was the only thing brought over from the series I loved so much. Finally, Don't expect a "Game over" at the end.

Chris Rock nor Samuel L. Jackson could help the SAW franchise. This plays more like a bad television detective show with some gory elements. The “twist” can be seen coming from a mile away.

man oh man was not expecting that... bad directing, bad writing, weird tone in the first half....... weird lighting... sorta made for tv... the story is just boring and has no real momentum..... kills are cool but the way they way play out isn't as fun as saw.... just watch saw again.... Chris Rock was ok when he was being mellow but his intense style kinda took me out of it....

I was excited to see Chris Rock in a serious thrilling movie and I thought with the full cast it would for sure be a block buster hit...............instead it was a sham.

Poor acting, over exaggerated acting. Typical cop show where the boss is always yelling at the rebel cop but then asks him how to handle the case.............the boss is a woman and I felt like her role should be one of independence not one where she is relying on the man for advice. She got there because she earned it, right?

The whole cops are crooked and everyone is covering up a murder was pretty lame. I figured out from the beginning how it was going to end and I knew immediately that the rookie is the bad guy.

Crap movie, watch something else.

I thought Spiral was awesome. Would love to a sequel with Chris Rock - please continue this story line! Honestly, best horror movie I've seen in a hot minute. I'm a big fan of Saw and I love when the movies have depth to the story. Some of them are just plot holes and gore porn. SPIRAL has balance - a story line that draws you in and bloody games that will satisfy gore fans (well me anyway). I watched a crap copy and thought it was so good I rented it. It was well for it.

Come on peeps! It is Saw and Spiral doesn't disappoint. Rock is excellent and the actor playing the culprit ( shhhhh), is SPOT ON! I will watch it again and I hope it does well enough that Spiral 2 will be out SOON.
