WHEN THE PICTURE BEGINS, NO SPOILERS, YOU THINK OF HOW GOOD THIS MAY BE. IT BUILDS INTO A CRESCENDO OF ABSOLUTE AND MAGNIFICENT SUSPENSE DUE TO THE SPECTACULAR PERFORMANCES OF MELISSA FUMERO AND GET THIS, BONNIE BEDELIA
OF .....DIE HARD AND THE ORIGINAL SALEM’S LOT WITH DAVID SOUL....... BOTH ACTRESSES MAKE THIS MOVIE BREATHTAKING. AS
MELISSA IS INVOLVED WITH A JEWEL THIEF AND WANTING TO EXIT THE MALICIOUS RELATIONSHIP, SHE RECEIVES HER WISH. WHILE IN THE CAR, AN ACCIDENT OCCURS, SHE SURVIVES, WITH THE CASH AND JEWELS, AND BELIEVES HER PARTNER IS DEAD. FAST FORWARD TO A HOUSE 🏠 MELISSA COMES UPON, WHERE SHE IS TAKEN IN AND CARED FOR BY AN OSCAR WINNING PERFORMANCE BY BONNIE BEDELIA. THERE ARE SO MANY TWISTS AND TURNS, AS MELISSA BECOMES PREGNANT AND BONNIE BELIEVES ITS HER LONG LOST SON, FOR REASONS YOU WILL SEE. AS AN UNWANTED STRANGER ARRIVES, OUT COMES THE SHOTGUN AND THE REAL ACTION AND SUBLIME PLOT DEVELOPMENT CONTINUE. WHEN THE DENOUEMENT ARRIVES, I.E. UNRAVELING, YOU WILL BE HAUNTED BY THE CONCLUSION. THIS SHOULD BE AN OSCAR NOMINEE, BUT INDIES SELDOM ARE. A SUPERB MOVIE, NONSTOP THRILLS, AS MELISSA IS HELD PRISONER INITIALLY. GET OUT THE 🍿 & 🍕 AND ENJOY EVERY SECOND.

Bonnie Bedelia might just be the new reigning “Mommy Dearest”. For those who quit watching this film prior to the very last scene, you’ll never know how totally devoid of morality this twisted woman is. I backed up the download and played it 3 times to make sure I’d seen and heard it correctly. On the second viewing, I saw something I missed the first time and totally wish I’d not looked at it again but then went for a third look just to make sure I wasn’t hallucinating. I wasn’t. If you watch, watch all the way; especially if horror is your jam. You won’t be disappointed and don’t cheat because it will not make any sense if you do. FOREWARNED IS FORARMED❗️

The framework of the movie is bad relationships: boyfriend/girlfriend, husband/wife, business partners. There are two friendships that are almost decent and one protagonists who doesn’t last long. His influence looms large, however.

For the most part, the acting is uneven and there’s no smooth flow between scenes. I found myself actually wanting commercial breaks in places. This was most prominent at the beginning and during scenes about the robbery. Once the action switches to the house and focuses on Bedelia’s character, and the pregnant woman she kidnapped, the acting and storytelling are better.

Other reviewers have called the film “misogynistic”. I wonder if that’s possible or maybe if there’s a better word when the hatred is perpetrated between women. There’s a bit of the “traditional” variety but I was more offended by the way women treated each other.

A good score and some decent photography saved this dark flick from 2 stars. I suspect if the summary were rewritten to reflect the horror aspects it would draw a much bigger audience. It’s not a house on fire but a slow, creepy burn with an ending not soon to be forgotten🍿

Well this is terrible. The acting is so bad, it looks like a first year high school drama club production. I only made it about 20 mins (much like another reviewer) before my grandmother’s voice saying “your face is gonna get stuck like that” pulled me out. I may never forget the “church mouse with a shoe leather p****” line. The glowing reviews were either the people in the movie or their parents. They are not real, this movie is so bad.

The positive reviews for this are obviously fake. Two minutes in and it's some of the worst acting I've ever seen. The rest of the movie is pretty much trash too.

This *could* have been a great film... i think. I had to stop watching about a1/3 of the way through. The acting was just too painful- forced, overly exaggerated, fake. The synopsis made it sound like a potential gem, but the execution fell far, far short of anything close to watchable. If there were ever a remake with people who could actually act, I'd be interested. Seriously, though, don't waste your time with this one, and don't be suckered by all the 5-star "reviews". They were paid to lie, obviously.

This is the worst acting I have ever seen! Only made it 5 minutes into the movie and I gave up. No way could I suffer through any more.
