Awesome series!

Love this series! Although definitely not kid friendly it is a great adult treat. The main characters are super engaging and you find you can get really emotionally invested. The writers and producers are genius and make each episode its own story. You can easily walk into the series at any point and get enough content information to know what is going on and not feel completely lost. Sam and Dean are thoroughly entertaining and their character plots are quite thought provoking. The content can be graphic at times but not over the top. There are multiple story lines going simultaneously but it's done eloquently so you get just enough critical detail to remember from episode to episode. They offer great previous episode reviews before each new one. The "the road so far" segments viewers can get caught up on crucial details from previous episodes that are relevant to what you are about to watch further deepening your understanding of the narrative. You leave each episode emotional and excited about what is going to happen next. It's easy to get wrapped up in the Supernatural world. I love that the focus isn't targeted exclusively at the monsters but rather the relationship between main characters. It's engaging and thought provoking. I can't wait to watch more!

Helped me get through hospital
Verified purchase
I'm in the middle of season nine, having inhaled seasons1-8 on Netflix during the last month or so. I'm in hospital for a minor boring reason, and I would have gone even more nuts that I already have had not been able to watch Supernatural. What I love most about this show is the continuity of characters and the ever deepening of relationships. I'm reminded of the X-Files, which alternated between the long-range plot arc and individual almost self-contained episodes. Both shows tend to throw in a long-term reference or two even in the "silly, filler" shows.

My only complaint, and this may not happen to people who don't watch nine seasons back to back, is that the long arc seems to drag on a bit, both in personal relationships between the major characters, and progression of the fate of earth, heaven and hell. Although all venues seem open to changing what is usually static. Climate change on the highest level possible.

However these annoyances are greatly outweighed by the wit and serious talent of the writers, directors, and actors.

I guess by posing these questionssI am inadvertently asking for the show to end, which I don't want!

Absolutely brilliant series, somewhere between Doctor Who, the X-files, and Twin Peaks.

I will be very sad indeed when I finish this season.

Supernatural Is the Best Supernatural Shows On Television and Online! Watch it!

I love this show because it continues to grow as the boys have. The plots are always changing and twists are added that make for a very interesting show each time. It leaves me always desiring and wanting more. I'm always asking myself, "what's going to happen next?" It makes since that the boys would try to change their lives over the years, sometimes one more than the other. With the many arguments these two go through they always end up regretting it before too long. There bond is one of the strongest bonds two brothers could have. They love what they do and love each other as much. They are defined by their work and what they believe in. Sam and Dean are passionate. That is what Supernatural is about. It is not just their work and beliefs or their brotherly love which steers this show but the passion that drives them. Each season of Supernatural has had great finales but the finale of Season 9 has given me an itch that I can't scratch. I will never forget it because I could feel it and I can't shake what it left in me. But I will always be grateful to the writers/directors/producers/and crew and especially the brilliant actors for their wonderful parts they put into the show. It takes a lot of hard work to do what they do for this show and it is of no surprise to me that Supernatural has lasted this long. I hope it can hold on for a little longer than season 10 but it's up to everyone at the camp if they want this ride to be over. I do not. They can make Supernatural for a few more seasons. There are the masses who would agree with me and not just the females but men like it too. If you haven't watched it yet. Please I urge you to open your mind and start at episode 1, season 1, "The Pilot." From that point on you will not be able to stop watching because it's addicting and so wonderfully entertaining in many ways. This is the best supernatural shows on television ever in my opinion. Check it out. See why...for yourselves. Thanks.

I Love This Show !

The writing continues to be excellent year after year, the story lines keep you guessing, and it's smart. There's an obvious intelligence guiding this project from the beginning that has not been "dumbed down" like so many other "supernatural/vampire-type" shows. Robert Singer, Sera Gamble, and of course Eric Kripke, as well as everyone else involved in the writing and production of Supernatural are extremely talented and very much appreciated. Which is not to slight the visual effects, special effects, and all the other incredible technical abilities we've seen. WOW! If anyone is doing it better, I haven't seen it!
And then there's the music. Anyone who loves Classic Rock has got to love the music played here! You're fantastic Guys!

And then there's the Boys...Jensen & Jared are so amazing as Dean & Sam (I just like to put Dean's name first sometimes). They've been put through the wringer time & again and have bounced back, or stumbled back, or sometimes been dragged back, & they stand up again for the next shot. & I'm talking about the actors as well as the characters. The amount of emotion that these 2 guys process through every week can leave me breathless, or is that the rare occasion that we see Jared with his shirt off?
Seriously, Jensen & Jared, and Misha (we could never forget Misha!), Jim Beaver, Mark Shepard, these guys are awesome!
I truly miss Jim Beaver. I can't wait for next season!

a Classic from the get-go

I, too, have been with The Boys from the beginning, and love everything about this show. Beyond the beauty and depth of Dean and Sam, the original plot lines, the great music, and the multitude of wonderful guest stars, this is a totally entertaining yet deep like few other shows are...I agree with the comparison someone made between this show and Buffy, another classic, a 'metaphysical horror/comedy'.... this season was as good as, if not better than, any of the wonderful previous seasons. I thought the Men of Letters' bunker was a genius plot addition, and love seeing Crowley with some humanity...(so glad that Mark Sheppard is a regular, along with Misha... I still miss Bobby, (I mean Jim Beaver...) though, as well as Ellen and Jo. But new characters - with that 'spark' always seem to come along with regularity, one of the show's many strengths. It would be hard to find a weak link in this show, even if I was a person that was comfortable being judgmental - which I'm not - though I must admit, the show and the Boys feel such a part of me - almost like one's own child - that I think I might have a bit of a mother's love/bias. Anyway, I hope it goes on for many years. Like Dr. Who. It could..!!??

SON OF A B#TCH!!!
Verified purchase
This season has you going from "D@mmit, Sam!" to "Son of B#TCH!" to "What in the crap?!" and loving every minute of it. The thing I thought, honestly, as I watched the finale last night, was at least Sam didn't do what he kept saying he would do since the whole Gadreel fiasco. When he laid Dean down and walked out of the room to strike a match, I smiled and nodded.

Because these boys have another version of "being Winchestered" and they should put that on a tee-shirt, I think. "WWWD?" What would a Winchester do? He'd raze Heaven and Hell for his brother, that's what.

I have a feeling that's EXACTLY what we've got in store for season 10... and you know, I'm okay with that! Sam and Dean, I'll follow you anywhere!!!

WHAT IS GOING TO HAPPEN, CAN'T WAIT
Verified purchase
I could not watch it on TV because the HD channel wasn't coming in correctly, it would go in and out, so I kind of forgot about it for once in eight years. I watched season 8 on Netflix. I started to watch season 9 on Hulu Plus, but they had episodes starting on 9 or 10, what is that? I want to see all the episodes leading up to them. I even tried the network on the web, to no avail, it was the same thing. I said maybe Amazon has it. They do. I don't like paying for it, but it is the only way I can see all the episodes I missed.

As far as the episode, I think Sam is going to be pissed when he finds out there is an angel in his body. After, all he had nothing to do with the decision making. I do also think that the angel is going to want to come on out for a look see. Being such a powerful being he is going to want to come out, and these angels do have some big egos. I guess it comes with the territory.

Great series!! Good 9th season
Verified purchase
The ninth season is good...not great. However, I'm a sucker for this show and I'm watching it anyway. I started watching it on Netflix, and I am totally addicted! I think the thing I like most about the show is the banter between the two main characters (Sam and Dean Winchester). Dean (Jensen Ackles) has a very easy, casual manner in the show (even when he is being intense) and you can't help liking and rooting for him.
The show sometimes gets formulaic-the basic formula is a "procedural cop show" but with monsters (even though Sam and Dean are more like vigilantes.) However, sometimes it goes in surprising directions. It doesn't matter, I'm hooked anyway.
Also, it's worth mentioning that the secondary characters are often really great-especially Misha Collins and Mark Sheppard.
Anyway, you should start at the beginning and watch the whole series...it's worth it!
