greatest show EVER!!!

Heh? There is no question that this show holds the record for longest running sci-fi/horror show in TV history, and likely will continue in some way after next years final season. The Road is long and Sam, Dean, and the Impala continue their wayward journey in an exciting Season 3 in which all episodes look great in BLU RAY FORMAT!! No spoilers here. Just keep watching, rambling, and rocking 4 EVER!!!

Missing content. :(

If this was actually the original season in its entirety, it would get 5 stars. But (and here's where I show just much of a fannish nerd I am) could someone please explain why this season is missing the 'THEN' recaps at the beginning of the episodes? Those are part of the episodes and should have been included. Other seasons have them.

Also, the packaging is slightly different from every other season in the series. That's not as big of a deal, but annoying when it's sitting on my shelf with the rest.

Between missing content and the bad packaging, it honestly almost feels like a bootleg compared to the rest of the blu-ray sets.

Better every season!

I was unemployed for nearly 8 months after I graduated from college.

I had a lot of time to think.
A lot of time spent in my running shoes.
Many hours laid out on the back patio with my Kindle.
And even more time flipping through channels in my parent’s living room, laptop open, impatiently waiting for an email from any company I had applied with.

And thus, one early morning, I flipped to TNT and came upon a show called "Supernatural". Now, I love all things paranormal. It scares me s***less, but I like it. And to see two sexy ass men traveling across country, fighting ghosts and shape shifters, was pretty much all I needed to see to be hooked like a fish.

The first episode I ever saw was “Ghostfacers” (which is somewhere on this season) and I completely fell in love. I probably shouldn’t have watched it out of order, but I was broke and couldn’t afford to buy the seasons. (Flip to almost a year later and I’ve compulsively bought almost all of them consecutively within a months’ time). I was confused as hell, but I couldn’t stop watching. It’s an addiction.

This TV series has easily become one of my favorites, if not at the tippy top of the list, it’s definitely worth the time.

Dean and Sam. Cas and Crowley. Ruby and Jo. Bobby.

It's all awesome.

Short and Sweet

This season, even though shorter has some awesome episodes. From the perspective of watching this long afterward I can say I liked the Ruby character. She doesn't show up too often, the Bela character I can do without.

Some truly funny moments to me are 1: Dean going and seeing his old girlfriend and the b-day party. Seeing the women eyeing him up like a piece of deliciousness, and not being shy at all, is great. Seeing him interact with the kid who acts and talks like him. Quick math and oh Holy crap. Not his kid though? Bedtime Stories had me cracking up, especially when Sam knows the Cinderella story and Dean tells him he is so gay. I love the episode where the old lady is hot for Sam and it grossing him out. The lady wasn't shy and seeing both guys in tuxes was a sight that had me speechless, gaping at the tv. Oh My God when Gert(old lady) did the double ass grab on Sam and whispered sexily into his ear, the look on his face was priceless. Seeing Dean come down the stairs in slow motion and thinking he looked ridiculous. I agreed whole-heartedly with Bela that, that was not the word I would use. More like a super-sexy American 007. As you see in the gag reel. His reaction to the suggestion of angry sex saying don't objectify me, is total b.s. as you shortly see a huge freakin' grin split his face.

There is a really funny part in the Fresh Blood episode. They capture a young newly turned vampire and are asking her who turned her and how. She said some guy was buying her drinks and put drops in her drink. What did he look like? She said he was an old guy, you know like 30. The looks on their faces was WTF: when did 30 get to be old? Since they are riding around that age bracket. Way too funny.
The Christmas episode is out and out hilarious. It starts with the elf thinking they are two perverts just watching kids to seeing Santa with a bottle of Jack watching Christmas porn. That will warp your psyche beyond repair.
Seeing Sam & Dean standing there open-mouthed at Santa is side-splitting. Only to be topped by them breaking into a Christmas carol like they are just out caroling. Santa laughing and them high-tailing it out of there. Let alone being tied up and tortured by rejects from Pleasantville, who have no problem with killing and chopping up bodies, but she tells Dean he owes money to the swear jar for cussing. Wicked funny.

The Mystery Spot is funny, yet hard to watch considering Dean is heading to Hell shortly. Sam gets to watch him die every which way and he can't stop it. Then we find out the Trickster is back, and Sam gets a taste of life without Dean. It has some really funny moments and sad too. The season ender is really hard to watch, as Dean's time runs out and he gets shredded by Hellhounds and sent to Hell. You see the full realization of what he did on his face as he is screaming Sams name.

This show just keeps getting better and better. These 2 are absolutely mesmerising to watch and a huge bonus seeing 2 hotties in tuxes makes it complete. I would ramp it up to 15 stars if that were a choice. Get yourself these season's and get hooked(it will happen). It is worth every penny, and it is money well spent.

Season 3 itself: 5 stars. I love how the whole season was based around the impending doom of Dean, but also managed not to dwell on it either. Having said that... there is something absolutely awesome about seeing Dean die again, and again, and again and... ("Mystery Spot." Don't get me wrong - my favorite character is Dean. It's just an awesome episode!) Also - this is the season that reintroduces ghost hunters Ed and Harry, this time as Ghostfacers! What's not to love about Ghostfacers?!

The blu-ray: 4 stars. I was bummed there wasn't any commentaries but there are a couple other little extras that saved this from a three star (and therefore a total 4 star review) - in particular the Ghostfacers! Confessionals featurettes.

shows on TV right now. I've been loving Supernatural since the first episode and Sam/Dean have really grown in the series. From fledgling demon hunters to full on demon killers, but still at the same time keeping that thing that seperates us from them...their humanity. Yes, he sold his soul to save his brother and that is one of the major storylines in Season 3. As the brothers race towards finding a way to undo this pact that has been made.

Not knowing what lies ahead for them it never stops the Winchester brothers from having a blast doing what their Dad trained them to do. It's violent, dark and grown up, but at the same time its light hearted and funny to watch. Supernatural isn't like any show out there and that's what makes me love it so much. Especially after the Season 3 epic cliffhanger, I can't spoil for folks that haven't seen it yet.

But wow! It's something else and will leave you wanting Season 4 to hurry and come out on DVD asap. I love all the characters in story whether recurring (Bobby) or not. They all make this show something special and kudos to the writers, producers, directors, set designers, lighting effects, custome designers and everyone else work on the show. Thanks for making Supernatural just that.

A Delight To Devour

It was with SUPERNATURAL that I discovered the many varied virtues of Amazon Unbox - and I must say that it's a wondrous thing!

I don't usually watch tv, per se. I do, however, love certain network & cable series. To be able to watch them, on my own schedule and at my own whim, right here upon my own computer screen, is just about the closest I've ever come to being spoiled in the whole of my existence!

Now- for this show specifically: Let me just say that I don't think I've ever embraced so whole-heartedly such a guilty pleasure as offered by network tv before in all my history here on earth. In short, I just love this show!

It's in essence the ongoing saga of a family - well, two brothers, specifically- Sam and Dean Winchester, whose mother was killed in 1983 in a fire over Sam's crib when he was six months old, by a supernatural entity. From that moment, Sam's father, John, has raised his children - Dean, who's four years older than Sam, and Sam himself- to hunt supernatural things, with the ultimate feat to kill the thing that murdered their mother.

The allure of this show lies in the dynamics between the members of this fractured little family. Jared Padelecki and Jensen Ackles play Sam and Dean, respectively. Jeffrey Dean Morgan ("Grey's Anatomy") plays John.

There have been recurring characters throughout the three seasons so far, Jim Beaver as Bobby the most notable of Season 3. The acting is simply excellent. There's quite a lot of mythology drawn into the flow of the storyline, though each episode is like an excellent mini horror movie in itself.

The finale of this season left a major and most incredible cliffhanger. I am truly all agog for what happens next!

Finally, if it weren't for Amazon Unbox, I would not have had the pleasure of viewing each of the episodes of this Season of SUPERNATURAL, as I work evenings and nights. I am most thankful it's been available!

Little Brother Takes Care of Big Brother

If you look at the DVD cover, it pretty much tells you what the season will be about. Dean does not have much time on Earth as he has a year left before the crossroads demon comes to collect on his soul for hell and Sam is on a mission to find some way to keep Dean alive.

This is a season where you see both the brothers' relationship take a deeper turn, as you see Dean living it up knowing that his last days on Earth are near, but at the same time making sure that his little brother is alive and well after he leaves, and Sam trying to find some way to keep his brother alive, knowing well the risks involved.

There is more brotherly drama in this season, and it is interesting to see how the two actors try to reconcile there differences before Dean goes to hell, but at the same time express there love for one another knowing well what is ahead.

Very good acting and even better story-telling. I recommend it!
