The only people who will have a problem with this series are those who would like you to believe that, like Cancer, if we could all just stop talking about racism, maybe it'll just go away. Some will see this as entertainment, others will see it as propaganda, while others will see it as an opportunity to start an honest dialogue about systematic racism in this country. What folks don't understand is that a movie, a song, or a TV series cannot and will not create a "divide" in a society that is built on truth and equality. Humans are not that weak (at least, they shouldn't be)...the only folks who will look at this and think that it's only going add fuel to a fire that's already been burning, in this country, for four hundred years are the folks who want you to ignore the fact that the fire exists....meanwhile, the whole world burns around us.

Just another attempt by Hollywood to divide us all.

Racist propaganda trash. Pure subversion from people trying to cause conflict in society. This is nothing more than open racism and disgusting from a civilized nation fiction or not.

I am almost done with the first episode and stopped it to write this review. The fear and terror of the racism captured by this director is spot on. My heart was pounding out of my chest as it reminded me of the racism I experienced in my life. I am white. I was raised in an all-Italian family that were about as racist as you could get (I did not subscribe to their racism at all). They did not see black people as human beings with feelings, a heart or a soul. The language they used I will not repeat. It was absolutely dehumanizing and degrading beyond anything you can imagine. Then one day my sister announced she was pregnant. And it was by a black man. Having a biracial nephew changed my life forever and I thank God for it. I helped raised my nephew, and it was during these years I began to understand a tiny bit of the racism black people go through on a daily basis. It changed me forever. I will never be the same. The looks we got from total strangers at the store (mostly white males): the stopping, the glaring, the pointing, the remarks. There were more than a few times I literally feared for our safety. Had we not been in a public store surrounded by people we would have been beaten within an inch of our lives. If looks could kill we would have been dead and through the floor. The devil possessed white people portrayed in this film (yep, I said it) brought it all back. That's not to mention the reaction from my father's racist side of the family. Let's just say we stopped speaking to most of that side of the family, and we are better off for it. There also were seemingly rational, educated otherwise normal people I was friends with and worked with, who upon learning my nephew was half black, literally lost their minds. They never looked at me the same again. Some of them didn't have to say a word. The look of disgust on their faces when I showed them his photos said it all. To the people who think racism magically disappeared, it hasn't. My nephew was born in the late 90s and that is when I experienced this absolutely totally unacceptable behavior from family, friends and strangers. Now that he is almost twenty-four, it hasn't stopped. If it wasn't for my nephew, I would have been one of those white people who thought racism had disappeared. So many people think because it isn't happening to them, it can't be happening at all. And I grew up in suburbia. This is what 99% of the people were like. This isn't an exaggeration. None of this will ever change until we learn to LOVE OUR NEIGHBORS AS OURSELVES. We must be the change we want to see.

The same regurgitation of the historical horrible race issues the US has suffered, sugar coated as a horror series. Absolutely dreadful. Just a show full of trauma fantasized. The directors did a terrible job. I don’t know why American entertainment seems to love bringing up this stuff over and over again.

Love Little Marvin and Lena Waithe! The teaser trailer is frightening! I love that this show addresses the terror Black families faced during this time in American history AND has other elements that will scare the crap out of me. Looking forward to watching the whole season on April 9th!

What do you know the blacks can have nice things too. I just came to help with the one star review from the fox news viewer. Prime has been doing well lately. One Night in Miami was amazing. The trailer looks good and I love horror so I will definitely be watching.
