After installation, so far so good. These outlets will get frequent use, so I'll update as it sees more use.

It is a bit wide inside a single-gang box, so be beware of clearance. I needed to insulate the hot & neutral screw heads with some electrical tape to prevent arcing to my metal box. A physically smaller unit would let me give it another star, but honestly it is totally reasonable unless you have a super-packed box.

I checked voltage & output via a standard (cheap) USB power tester, and they show to be within spec (5.17 V) . Of course, actual device charging rates are highly variable, based on your device, its current battery charge, its battery health, its internal temperature, etc.

I'll update this if anything changes.

UPDATE: These are still working great for me. They show no wear despite a few years of use in my kitchen. Note that if you have less than stellar charging time, check your cable. Not all cables are equal - if your cables have more-than-tiny internal electrical resistance, you'll get lousy charging times no matter the charger you use. Cables with thin conductors or that are long often have problematic electrical resistance properties. See Ohm's Law for details.

I bought this with the intention of making sure my Cloud cams would stay powered without getting unplugged because something else needed the socket. Perfect, I thought, can’t turn this off and leaves all my outlets available.
Installation was a snap, had terminals available for push-in or around-screw wiring (though you may have to get creative if your old socket had TWO screw terminal connections, as this socket only has ONE set of screws unlike a standard socket), single ground on the bottom.
Face-plate fits well, charges my iPhone over Qi well, but... will not keep my amazon cloud camera running over its USB output. It’ll connect and.... lose power and reset. For a security camera, this is completely worthless and defies the point. I had to plug in a simple 1A USB transformer into this outlet. STUPID!!!!!!! I tried combinations of draw or camera-alone on the “3.1A USB outlet” of this product, and nothing will keep my camera connected.
So... now I’ve got a constant-draw transformer in my wall always sucking juice... and I don’t really trust it because it doesn’t work like it’s supposed to... I may do a little more testing with my Amazon Echo/Dot plugged into it to see if it’s of any use, but it DEFINITELY doesn’t do what I bought it for, provide a simple and constant 5V 1A USB output.

I bought these after buying about 8 of these from Sunco. After only 3 months, more than 50% of the Sunco products I installed had failed. 5 out of 8!!!! The outlets still worked, but the USB ports stopped working. I bought TopGreener to replace them and have not looked back... These are what you want. And unless you are an electrician, which after all that I have been through with products like these and smart switches, is the only way that I would recommend installing these kinds of products (multiple handymen have failed me in different ways and if you're not a pro, you will zap yourself or cause sparks or fry something or cause arcs that kill the product more quickly over time -- don't think you won't... you will), you need to pay somebody to install these products, which costs just as much and maybe even more than the cost of the product itself!. So, now imagine you went cheap, and like me you bought ones, paid to have them installed and they failed and now you need to have them installed again!!!! Whatever wisdom you thought you had by trying to save an extra buck, you just made yourself feel like a massive fool, because you doubled your installation cost and hassle factor to get what you wanted.

I purchased a Topgreener 2-pac and installed both units in a GFI circuit. After approximately 30 days the breaker activated. I removed both units not knowing which one failed. Through the process of elimination the failed unit was isolated. This process is time consuming and annoying. I have never had an electrical outlet fail. Obviously the Topgreener product is cheap construction and not reliable. I do not recommend this manufacturer. Unfortunately I have lost my purchase price as the return window has expired. This is an update to my original review. I have up-dated my review to 4 stars. I contacted the company regarding the failure and the customer service was excellent. They immediately replaced my order and also sent a return label for the return of the failed units. This company does stand behind their products.

These are deep as others have noted but with sufficient depth are easily installed and work well. I like the convenience of a readily accessible USB outlet.

They are deep to hold a small transformer which constantly draws a small amount of electricity. This seems out of step with today's world, where the focus in on efficiency and sustainability.

I am curious why they could not be designed with a mechanically activated mechanism instead of running 24/7. I understand its a small current draw, but multiplied by millions of units, its significant.

I would not have ordered these had I known and I will not be ordering more.

OK USB outlet, but not perfect.

This outlet works as advertised for charging USB divices while keeping the standard outlets accessible. I have installed several of these types of outlets throughout the house and the Top Greener brand tends to be a notch below the Leviton brand.

These are satisfactory, but not perfect as they don't seem to hold up as well to regular use. The plastic is rather soft and tends to get dinged up from plugging and unplugging, which I've never seen before with other outlets or brands. It relatively minor and only visible when looking closely, but nevertheless a point of negative feedback. It can also be tough to insert regular plugs for some reason even though the plug will smoothly go into a different outlet. I only have these problems with the Top Greenier outlets, not Leviton.

These are easy to install as long as you have a larger box. These outlets are deeper than standard outlets and don't have much room to spare for the extra wire. They would be difficult or impossible to install in an older home with smaller outlet boxes.

These are great, as evidenced by the fact that I have bought them twice. Just be sure you read the specs, especially if there’s a particular outlet you are wanting to replace. As one or several reviewers have mentioned, this outlet is very large/deep. It will likely not fit in a box that has multiple other connections. In fact that’s the only reason I give it four stars. Several times I’ve been limited in installing it where I wanted because of the depth. Also, note that it will not replace a switched outlet (one that has one half controlled by a light switch). Overall, install is fairly easy if you are mostly comfortable replacing outlets. Really the most difficult factor is the size.

I had both installed in the kitchen one on the wall and the other on the island since that's where everyone congregate most of the time, friends and family. Charging our smart phones and my iPad is fast. Since the kitchen remodel we've start to use the outlets more often. One off the wall plugs go in and out easily but the other takes a little work trying to plug in a cord. There's some resistance and I have to wiggle the cord and push it hard enough to get it in to the socket and its not because I have the large and small prongs reversed. I would like the seller to send me a new one to replace it.

Ordered these sockets a day before my son started asking if we could install one in his room. Received them a couple days later and was impressed they came with everything needed, including the switch blades. The sockets do not feel cheap and are solid. Installed quickly and without a single issue. As an FYI, they only have one side for one neutral, one line and one ground. This socket will not accept an alternate power source for switching (Half Hot). Not an issue at all for my installed, but it would have been nice (I didn't buy it expecting to switch on of the sockets). The USB appear to be 5W, but are no less than 3W for quick charging. One last note, be aware that this is a BIG socket. If this is going on an external wall or have multiple lines running through the gangbox, it will be a tight fit. Shouldn't be an issue in most cases, but it is big.
