So what makes a good pair of wireless earbuds? I believe the most basic qualities should be great sound quality and that they don’t hurt your ears. Additionally excellent battery life, fast pairing and easy controls top my list.
These are fully wireless earbuds, meaning that the left and right side sit on their own, with no connection between them. Each earbud has physical “light touch” buttons with playback and power controls. The included manual lists all of the controls and tap sequences which are fairly intuitive. The sleek charging case is pocket-sized small with a small bank of LED charging indicators on the front. The earbuds are very light and small. They fit snuggly in your ear and provide excellent sound isolation and comfort. Since you receive five additional ear tip designs plus the one on the NC9, you have a lot of options to find the most comfortable ear tip.
Sound quality rocks! Upon first listen I noticed that the bass is solid and it works nicely with treble, low, mid and high tones. I listen mostly to music streamed from SiriusXM and it sounds vibrant. Maximum volume is pretty good. The ANC noise-cancelling feature works perfectly. I’m often in an environment with much ambient noise and these silence the outside world to nearly nothing. There is also a transparent mode allowing you to hear certain sounds (like a voice). Battery life for fully-charged buds was just short of 6 hours but I had the volume at full during the entire test.
Is the TOZO NC9 better than second gen AirPods or Powerbeats Pro? We have both of those in our household and I’ve compared them with the NC9. For a sub-$100 pair of noise cancelling wireless earbuds, the TOZO NC9 really hold their own with the most important qualities: sound and comfort.

About the NC9, here is my review:
- NOISE CANCELLATION (5*): they don't cancel all the sounds, like when someone is talking to you, but it does cancel background noises, like a dishwasher or my super noisy AC (a big plus!). I'd say that it cancels an 80% of the noise of my extremely maddening AC without listening to music.
- TOUCH CONTROL (5*): The touch control is responsive but NOT excessively sensitive. I was worried about this, but I’ve been using them for a while and I’ve only started/paused them a couple of times when I took them out of the charging case. The touch control is activated only when it touches your skin, so it doesn’t work in contact with fabric, hair, etc., which is a relief since I live up north and I always wear a wood hat when I’m outdoor during the winter.
- INDEPENDENT EARBUDS (5*): Each earbud, Left and Right, can be used independently, so you can use one while you recharge the other. However, I don’t think that you can use each earbud on different devices unless they are far from each other. Obviously, if you use only one earbud you will lose the NC mode and the option that turns on the NC mode (one tap, left ear) will simply pause/start the music.
- SOUND QUALITY (4.5*): I’m not a professional musician, but I think that the sound quality is good! VOLUME: I think that the volume is lower than other earbuds, but I don't listen to loud music, so I'm ok with that.
- MICROPHONE (5*): when I speak with my family, they hardly ever notice I’m using a hands-free device (at least while I’m indoors, I haven’t tested them outdoors).
- SIZE & FIT (5*): I love the ergonomic fit! They are comfortable and secure when I run. I don't think that they are smaller than the T6, they are just shaped differently, wider and flatter than the T6, so they don't stick out of your ear as much. The main difference is that each earbud, right and left, is shaped differently, so you can't change sides. They are still on the big side for my ears (I’m an average-sized woman), but they fit perfectly for my husband (see pictures). I will still give them five stars because I guess that the size is still necessary to make them efficient. I’m sure that they will improve this as soon as the technology progresses.
- TEXTURE (4*): My only issue is that they feel a bit more plasticky than the T6 and I don't like the noise they make when they rub against the fabric.
- BATTERY LIFE (5*): I think that battery life is excellent! Yesterday, I used them for 5 hours straight, so I'm happy with that. Also, I almost always use each earbud independently so I can swap them when the battery is low.
- VOICE (5*): I like to hear a voice that tells me if the earbuds are connected/disconnected, etc. to make sure they are on. The voice does not sound 100% natural, but it sounds much more natural than the previous model.
- CASE (4.5*): I like the size of the case, but I wish it was just slightly smaller. The lid opening is magnetic and it opens 90 degrees. Also, it doesn't have the T6 issue with earbuds too slippery to pull them out of the charger.
- VOLUME CONTROL (5*): You can use them with your smart TV and increase or lower the volume easily. Some models don't have a volume option and you need to control it with your device, but they are incompatible with the volume control of smart TVs. This is why I bought the T6 and the NC9 works exactly the same way.
- CONNECTION (3/4*): When I was running with them for the first time I had some frustrating connection problems, but they magically disappeared after 10 minutes. Perhaps it was my phone... It still cuts off occasionally (not very often) when I run, but this seems to be an issue with Bluetooth earbuds in general.
- NOT WATERPROOF (?*): when I jog I sweat A LOT, so I miss being able to come home and simply wash them. But it seems that they can't make waterproof NC earbuds for some reason.
Personally, I think that Tozo did a great job with the NC9 and that they deserve 4/5 stars!

So what do I think? First impressions....
Sound:
I have used many high end IEM's (Alien Ears, Shure, etc) and for the price, again if I were to pay for them, I'd say the sound is very good. Better than I expected. Sound is a personal preference so some may think there is too much bass, others may prefer a bit more mids, but for me it was a good balance. I listen to everything...rock, dance, country and it played everything nicely. The bass was tight and not too loose. There was a nice crisp high-end to help bring out cymbals, fret noise, and pick noise without being overbearing. The louder you push them the nicer they sound. So for the sound I would highly recommend them.
Transparency Mode:
I really like this feature. It allows me to listen to someone talking to me without taking out my earbuds
ANC:
I've not had much experience with devices that have this so can only give my novice first impressions. It's great for tuning out the kids haha! I don't use public transport so can't speak to that but so far with it enabled they function like my custom molded IEMs and block out most of the sound around me. I'm sure it depends on your environment and what you are listening to but for me they are perfect.
Battery:
As for battery life, so far so good. I have had no issues. They seem to last a while. I'll update after I have them a while.
Case:
The case is nice and small and I like the battery leds on the front. It is very light but I think it will last a while.
Cable:
At first I thought I received a faulty cable or case because it wouldn't stay in. Truth is I didn't want to break the connection. But I finally got brave and pushed a little harder and it snapped into place and now fits nice and secure.
My Cons (Reason for only 4 stars):
The only things so far I can fault is...
1. the BT connection has it's moments when it is intermittent even with my phone right beside me but it only happens every now and then. Again I'll update this review in the future after I have them a while.
2. The voice in my head saying it has connected is different from the voice saying disconnected. Not sure why they don't use the same voice. It's the little things ya know.
So would I recommend buying them?
It is all subjective but in my opinion they are worth every bit of the asking price.

Battery life of buds - see above, a couple of hours use at best and dead
ANC and transparency - weak
At this price I don’t expect premium quality but these are no better than your standard budget earbuds (Soundpeats, mpow etc)
Update: Downgraded score to one star as earbuds randomly turn on to full volume by themselves. Earbuds unusable.

The pairing was super simple and as soon as I removed the buds from the charging box my phone saw them and I was able to pair immediately.
They are extremely comfortable in the ear and easily withstand physical exercise without falling out.
The sound quality blew me away. Deep bass coupled with great quality throughout the ranges.
The notice cancelling feature is a bonus and works really well.
The microphone also works very well and the few people I've phoned using them have said the voice quality is excellent.
The battery life is also really good!
All in all a fantastic set of earbuds and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend!

I then tried verious other brands of ear buds, Transmart Apollo ANC ears, Sony WF-1000 and Jabra 75 Elite.
The sony did not stay in my ear as most of the ear bud is outside of the ear, the jabra were good but expensive, the transmart I returned.
So lets get things into prespective, what do you want to use your ear buds for, watching a movie on your laptop, listening to music while working, drowning out noise on planes, trains? I am not a sound engineer and i wanted these to use on skpe calls, listen to music and answer my phone while out waking.
Lets be real here most of us want them for everyday use, e.g. wearing when out walking or in the gym. We re not looking for these to use while producing best selling records in the recording studio
If you intend to use your buds for the gym then they will need to be IP rated to prevent moisture (SWEAT) ingress in to the elctronic circuitry within the ear buds.
I read all the reviews and thought to myself 73% of 6444 people gave TOZO a 5 star rating, so common sense woud indicate that these 4704 people can not be wrong. So I gave Tozo another go and I got some TOZO 12 ear buds. T
hese abuds have a IPX8 rating this is a rating that means that the device is protected against water submersion for an extended period of time, so they are more that capealbe of keeping out any sweat created while working out or any rain if you happen to get caugh in shower while out walking and these can be washed after a trip to the gym to remove any salt build up from the sweat. .
The Buds come with a very good selction of ear tips to ensure that you get a good seal in the ear canal. These buds have been designed to sit deep in your ear canal. This ensures not just a secure fit, but a tight seal. These buds do not have active noise cancelling ao it is essential to get a good seal with the correct ear tip as this will help prevent outside noise seeping in around the buds and ruining your listening experience.
The buds come with their own charging case which has a C type USB connector socket.
The case also a unique feature in thqt it has a display which shows the amout of charge available in both the case and each bud, The power in the buds are shown by bar graph , four bars indicates 100%, 1 bar 25%. the case power is shown by numbers.
I find the sound is good and the microphone is clear when making / answering mobile calls., I said i am not a sound engineer but these are good for the money and will be acceptabe to most of us who are not audiophiles. Be realistic and you will be happy with what you get for you money.
Battery life is good.
All in all i would give these a 5 star rating for what you get for your money.

So glad I did, even without any burn in time the first two tracks I played sounded great, first a blues guitar piece the second a classical piano number. Paired immediately with each other and my phone and the Transparency mode and ANC work really really well. I was sat in front of an Air Con unit and the background noise vanished.
Could not recommend enough!
