5.0 out of 5 starsAmazing Bluetooth earbud headphones! Better than a lot of expensive branded headphones in my opinion
Reviewed in the United States on July 30, 2020
TOZO has done it again! I have the T6 and wife has the T12, which are already great headphones, but NC9 was even greater. My intention in buying this headphone was to give this to my eldest daughter cause she started eyeing my T6 after her apple earbuds broke. However, after trying out this headphone, I was very impressed of the new features, noise cancellation and transparent mode. It was very easy to use. Just tap it and there you go. The sound quality are amazing for a wireless headphone. Rich bass, high and lows are very clear and perfect for listening music. The fit is of course just like T6 and T12 are great. It doesn't go off your ears that easy unlike the apple earbuds. Perfect to use for running and working out. I'm truly happy with it that I have to keep it for me and I'll just get my daughter a T6 of her own since that was she's asking for. I will recommend this to my friends and colleagues. Truly for the price... this is hands down a steal. For an earbud less than $60 you get TWS earbuds that sound as good if not better than Bose in my opinion... water proof, wireless charging, w/ active noise cancellation and transparent mode, nice casing and very well built to last. I'm just so happy with my purchase I had to do a review.

1.0 out of 5 starsDespite the excellent sound quality there are serious drawbacks.
Reviewed in the United States on September 5, 2020
The positives: Fit very well and comfortable. They will not pop out. Music quality is excellent with deep bass. Noise cancellation works very well.
The negatives: After a full charge, the Initial setup was a little tricky. Pairing did not work and I have to reset. Battery lasted only 4 hours on the first day. I will charge over night to see it it changes the result. If you walk more than 10 feet from the blue tooth source, it cuts out. When you come back into range the pairing is inconsistent. Sometimes the left is connected and sometimes the right is connect. Each time you walk away and return you get a different result. There are serious gaps in the music. After noticing the number of gaps I documented 7 events in 83 minutes. Six gaps and one time it just switched the song. Volume: Initially I had difficultly raising the volume. I was able to get it to very low but I could not get it very high. Also it is hard to hear the women's voice when you switch between ANC and transparency. I am assuming that I have a bad unit and will try out a new one.

***update day 2*** After a full charge over night (4 bars), the unit started saying battery low after an hour. It repeats this message every ~50 seconds. After an hour the first event started where the ear piece disconnects and reconnects within 1-2 seconds. This should have never made it out of QC.

***update New unit*** After charging overnight. i used it for 2 hours and it started to say "battery low". When placed in the charger it indicated that the batteries are 3/4 charged. Very annoying. initial pairing was a little difficult but got it on the third try. This product does not match the reviews. I am returning it.

5.0 out of 5 stars TOZO NC9 Earbuds Impress with Great Sound and Comfort!
Reviewed in the United States on June 17, 2020
Color: BlackVerified Purchase
I recently purchased TOZO T10 earbuds for my wife and found the quality to be really good for budget earbuds. So I decided to get the NC9 for myself. For about $60, I’m really impressed with these earbuds! It shipped quickly from Amazon and packaging is functional apple-style design that looks nice. Everything you need is there including L+R earbuds, charging case, 5 sets of different sized ear tips, instruction manual and a short USB-C to USB-A cable. Once I opened the storage box the earbuds were pre-charged and ready to go. Pull them out and they automatically enter pairing mode. I paired them with my Samsung phone within seconds. That’s easy!

So what makes a good pair of wireless earbuds? I believe the most basic qualities should be great sound quality and that they don’t hurt your ears. Additionally excellent battery life, fast pairing and easy controls top my list.
These are fully wireless earbuds, meaning that the left and right side sit on their own, with no connection between them. Each earbud has physical “light touch” buttons with playback and power controls. The included manual lists all of the controls and tap sequences which are fairly intuitive. The sleek charging case is pocket-sized small with a small bank of LED charging indicators on the front. The earbuds are very light and small. They fit snuggly in your ear and provide excellent sound isolation and comfort. Since you receive five additional ear tip designs plus the one on the NC9, you have a lot of options to find the most comfortable ear tip.

Sound quality rocks! Upon first listen I noticed that the bass is solid and it works nicely with treble, low, mid and high tones. I listen mostly to music streamed from SiriusXM and it sounds vibrant. Maximum volume is pretty good. The ANC noise-cancelling feature works perfectly. I’m often in an environment with much ambient noise and these silence the outside world to nearly nothing. There is also a transparent mode allowing you to hear certain sounds (like a voice). Battery life for fully-charged buds was just short of 6 hours but I had the volume at full during the entire test.

Is the TOZO NC9 better than second gen AirPods or Powerbeats Pro? We have both of those in our household and I’ve compared them with the NC9. For a sub-$100 pair of noise cancelling wireless earbuds, the TOZO NC9 really hold their own with the most important qualities: sound and comfort.

5.0 out of 5 stars Nice fit and noise cancellation!
Reviewed in the United States on July 10, 2020
Color: BlackVerified Purchase
I bought the black model of the Tozo NC9 for my husband after I bought the T6 model for myself last year. He has been using the NC9 for a few days and is very happy with the purchase. (I also bought an older version last year, the T10, but I missed the volume control option, so I returned them).

About the NC9, here is my review:

- NOISE CANCELLATION (5*): they don't cancel all the sounds, like when someone is talking to you, but it does cancel background noises, like a dishwasher or my super noisy AC (a big plus!). I'd say that it cancels an 80% of the noise of my extremely maddening AC without listening to music.

- TOUCH CONTROL (5*): The touch control is responsive but NOT excessively sensitive. I was worried about this, but I’ve been using them for a while and I’ve only started/paused them a couple of times when I took them out of the charging case. The touch control is activated only when it touches your skin, so it doesn’t work in contact with fabric, hair, etc., which is a relief since I live up north and I always wear a wood hat when I’m outdoor during the winter.

- INDEPENDENT EARBUDS (5*): Each earbud, Left and Right, can be used independently, so you can use one while you recharge the other. However, I don’t think that you can use each earbud on different devices unless they are far from each other. Obviously, if you use only one earbud you will lose the NC mode and the option that turns on the NC mode (one tap, left ear) will simply pause/start the music.

- SOUND QUALITY (4.5*): I’m not a professional musician, but I think that the sound quality is good! VOLUME: I think that the volume is lower than other earbuds, but I don't listen to loud music, so I'm ok with that.

- MICROPHONE (5*): when I speak with my family, they hardly ever notice I’m using a hands-free device (at least while I’m indoors, I haven’t tested them outdoors).

- SIZE & FIT (5*): I love the ergonomic fit! They are comfortable and secure when I run. I don't think that they are smaller than the T6, they are just shaped differently, wider and flatter than the T6, so they don't stick out of your ear as much. The main difference is that each earbud, right and left, is shaped differently, so you can't change sides. They are still on the big side for my ears (I’m an average-sized woman), but they fit perfectly for my husband (see pictures). I will still give them five stars because I guess that the size is still necessary to make them efficient. I’m sure that they will improve this as soon as the technology progresses.

- TEXTURE (4*): My only issue is that they feel a bit more plasticky than the T6 and I don't like the noise they make when they rub against the fabric.

- BATTERY LIFE (5*): I think that battery life is excellent! Yesterday, I used them for 5 hours straight, so I'm happy with that. Also, I almost always use each earbud independently so I can swap them when the battery is low.

- VOICE (5*): I like to hear a voice that tells me if the earbuds are connected/disconnected, etc. to make sure they are on. The voice does not sound 100% natural, but it sounds much more natural than the previous model.

- CASE (4.5*): I like the size of the case, but I wish it was just slightly smaller. The lid opening is magnetic and it opens 90 degrees. Also, it doesn't have the T6 issue with earbuds too slippery to pull them out of the charger.

- VOLUME CONTROL (5*): You can use them with your smart TV and increase or lower the volume easily. Some models don't have a volume option and you need to control it with your device, but they are incompatible with the volume control of smart TVs. This is why I bought the T6 and the NC9 works exactly the same way.

- CONNECTION (3/4*): When I was running with them for the first time I had some frustrating connection problems, but they magically disappeared after 10 minutes. Perhaps it was my phone... It still cuts off occasionally (not very often) when I run, but this seems to be an issue with Bluetooth earbuds in general.

- NOT WATERPROOF (?*): when I jog I sweat A LOT, so I miss being able to come home and simply wash them. But it seems that they can't make waterproof NC earbuds for some reason.

Personally, I think that Tozo did a great job with the NC9 and that they deserve 4/5 stars!

4.0 out of 5 stars Good for the price
Reviewed in the United States on June 21, 2020
Color: BlackVerified Purchase
These earbuds work well for the price. My only real problem with these is that the sound stops sometimes like I lost Bluetooth connectivity.

Sound Quality: Average , not terrible, but not "good" either, Mids can get blown out and high can be saturated, not for the audiophile, but for a regular user they are decent, music sounds fine as long as I don't turn EQ on. Sound does sometimes drop out which is annoying but it's only for about half a sec and only seems to happen every now and again.

Mic Quality: Acceptable, I can't talk to anyone while driving down the highway because my cars mic is in the center console and the road noise is too loud. ANC does not work in calls unless I have it on before the call starts. With it on, the road noise is much lower but it seems that it is hard to understand what I'm saying I have to enunciate clearing and carefully to be understood. This is one of the main reasons for me to buy this set of earbuds so it's better but not great.

Battery Life: Seems decent I get about 4.5 hours on a charge with ANC on. I'm not sure if transparency mode or ANC would use more battery life though or if it's the same.

Fit: They seem to fit ok, with the silicon inserts that it came with. I switched to the cone style that it came with, but I plan on buying foam inserts the hopefully fit. It should improve noise isolation even more.

Build Quality: Seems good, I dropped the case on the concrete this morning and the earbuds popped out but everything still works fine just a tiny scratch on the plastic case.

Worth: Considering it was between these and the Galaxy Buds+, these are a GREAT value, between 1/2 to 1/3 of the price. It would be nice to test out the Buds+ so I could tell the difference but I'm not about to buy them so I can do that.

Overall I think these earbuds are more than worth it as long as they last for over a year hopefully two. If they die on me before that I'll probably end up buying the Galaxy Buds+ instead of getting another pair.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great sounding earbuds with Active Noise Canceling
Reviewed in the United States on August 1, 2020

This is another high quality yet affordable product from TOZO. These ear buds come with active noise canceling (ANC). They fit nicely and snuggly in your ears. Audio quality is on par with more expensive brands with deep bass and clean treble. ANC leaves a bit more to desire but at this price point that is OK. Controls are similar to other TOZO earbuds, simple and intuitive. You can easily turn ANC off if not needed to save battery. The storage case has extra battery it so when you store the earbuds they get charged. Case can be charged via USB-C cable, included in the package. Unlike some other TOZO models, no wireless charging for the case. Bluetooth connection is a breeze: you remove the buds from the case and turn on Bluetooth on your phone and they simply pair without a fuss. I recommend these ear buds who want basic ANC and good audi quality at an affordable price.

Great value for money. The noise cancellation works fantastic. I was in a very noisy environment and had to make an urgent work call. I was worried my noisy background would make it really hard but as soon I plugged these into my ears, I shut off all the noise and I was able to speak and hear clearly. I have had this for less than a week big the build quality looks great. Comes with a charging case similar to AirPods. The audio quality is fantastic too. I am very happy with my purchase.

5.0 out of 5 stars A+ Wireless Earbuds!
Reviewed in the United States on August 10, 2020
Color: BlackVerified Purchase
I've owned previous TOZO earbuds before, but these take the cake! I've owned many pairs of headphones and earbuds over the years from different brands, but this latest model from TOZO has been the best pair of earbuds I've owned that are less than $75.

First of all, they fit snugly and securely in my ears and are super comfortable for hours of wear, which is great because I always had issues with wireless earbuds popping out of my ears.

Second, the sound quality is amazing. The sound is crisp, the bass doesn't sound like you broke a speaker in your car. They aren't as great as the wired audio technicas I have or my bose wireless, but for a pair of wireless earbuds and at the price point, these are the best sounding earbuds I've used.

Third, the noise cancellation is great and easy to access.

Fourth, battery life. After testing this pair of earbuds against others, I can say the the battery life is also good. Having the case also serve as a charger is a huge plus. They charge with a USB-C cable and while I know that more products are moving toward USB-C charging, it's a little inconvenient for me because I don't own a lot of USB-C devices (yet). If I lose the charging cable, I'll be in trouble.

Fifth, the controls/buttons are WAY easier to understand and memorize than other wireless earbuds. Sometimes all the one tap, two tap, press and hold, etc. controls for other earbuds are so complicated to remember. BUT NOT FOR THESE. The controls are straight forward and left and right earbuds have common controls, which makes it easier to memorize.

Overall, a great pair of wireless earbuds for the price! I am very happy with this latest version of TOZO earbuds.

1.0 out of 5 stars Bluetooth range horrible and ANC/Transparent mode worthless

Really wanted to like these, but just can't give them good reviews. I'm not an audiophile by any stretch - so I can't really give you a good rating based on how good these sound. It may very well be that for $50-60 these things sound at good as others twice their price. If that's all you're interested in you will have to go by other reviewers.

What I can tell you is that the range on these is very poor compared to others in the $25-60 range. I tried many different buds and these were a good 30-40% worse range. Now, that being said if you don't need to use these beyond a 5-10 feet range they might work for you. However BT transmitting devices can be iffy and not all have great radios in them. While you can't blame the headphones if the device radios are junky, you can hedge your bets by making sure your headphones have as good a range as they can.

I also found that when running with these in ANC mode, there was still a lot of wind noise. I suspect this was from the wind just cutting in through the physical seal in my ears. Your experience may vary here if they fit your ears better than mine. They actually felt pretty snug in my ears compared to some others, but even so I still heard quite a bit of wind.

One of the reasons I originally went with these was the ANC and Transparent mode features. I didn't really feel that the ANC was very good - it didn't sound much different to me than half dozen other head seats without ANC. As far as the transparent mode it is not very useful. Yes, you can hear your surroundings better with it enabled, but there is too much air noise. If you use the feature outside (what it is billed for...to be able to hear traffic, etc) then the hissing from the wind is unbearable. It would be like if you were holding a boom box on your shoulder with a box fan in between it and your ear.

Between all of these issues I simply can't recommend these for anything more than the $20-30 price range.

5.0 out of 5 stars Tozo smokes the competition again

The Tozo NC9's arrived in a nice white box, complete with a plastic wrapping. This normally goes underappreciated, but the wrapping is particularly welcome during this pandemic. It makes sanitization much easier, so that you can just sanitize the wrapping and then rest assured that everything inside will be clean once you open the seal.

The unboxing experience was very similar to an apple product, right down to the instruction manuals inside a paper sleeve with "Designed by TOZO" written on it. You find the charging case, the earbuds, a charging cable, and 5 pairs of additional eartips. The case charges via USB type C which is always a plus. I will admit the build quality of the case feels a bit cheap in terms of the plastic used, and the hinge being a bit stiff. The earbuds themselves use the same plastic as the case. The plus side of this is that the total weight is very light. The aesthetic reminds me a lot of the Echo buds. The case measures about 32 mm in height, thus you probably do not want to carry this around in your pocket as it will bulge out quite a bit. I really appreciate the 4 charge-level indicator lights on the outside of the case, representing 25% each.

The earbuds fit incredibly well in my ears - something extremely rare among any earbuds. The shape sits right in the cup shape of your ears, and barely protrudes. This makes it better than most earbuds for sleeping on your sides (I said better - it's still not actually comfortable unless you have a really soft pillow). Wearing it normally in other situations, it is extremely comfortable. You will easily forget they are even there.

Pairing is extremely easy. You just take them out of the case and they instantly go into pairing mode so you can directly search on bluetooth. Connectivity range is great as well and I can easily go anywhere within a room or 2 without dropping connection at all.

===========================================
Now for the listening experience:
I have to say once again like the Tozo T10's, Tozo absolutely smokes everything else in their price bracket. Honestly they can go toe-to-toe with earbuds all the way up till the ~$120 bracket, but I will just give my objective comments as an audiophile without referencing it against other earbuds. Please note that the sound is extremely good for what they cost, and that most of the things I mention will probably never bother anyone shopping at this price bracket.

First thing I notice is that they are extremely bass heavy, and the best way to describe the sound signature is that it is overall very in-your-face. It's subjective whether you like this or not. There is no equalizer for the earbuds as far as I am aware. This does leave the higher frequencies sounding somewhat flat and empty. If your ears are particularly sensitive, you might also hear vibrations from the silicon eartips at the higher frequencies - these sound similar to the buzzing distortion noises you get when you play at a volume that is too loud for your equipment. This goes away when I replace them with some Comply foam tips - however Comply tips basically cost half of what the earbuds do, so I don't really recommend doing so at this price point.

But anyways, like I said, I am very satisfied at this price point and there is no better bang for the buck.

===========================================

Having used the Tozo T10's before, they had an extremely loud minimum volume threshold, which kind of hurt my ears. I'm quite glad to see that Tozo took my suggestion and this time they have brought it down to be in line with most other earbuds in the NC9's. The ANC makes a high pitched tinnitus at first when I put them on, but that went away for my earbuds after around 10 seconds and became the usual sounds of cabin pressure that you get from ANC.

How good is the ANC? It does a respectable job at blocking at constant, low frequencies, though you can still hear most of those slightly if you listen closely with no music playing. This is quite good especially at this price where I normally wouldn't even expect to encounter ANC. It does a good job of reducing most noises around my house (e.g. refrigerators, fans) to the point where I don't really notice them much, especially when music is playing. Unfortunately I can't use public transit during the pandemic, so I cannot test it out on a bus or train. The ANC is more of a bonus feature on an already great deal. Don't expect it to work too well on the high frequencies (e.g. voices). Many people come in with unrealistic expectations of ANC if it's their first time. These won't silence everything, but it'll make listening to music at lower volumes possible and reduce most of the noise in your environment to levels where they won't really bother you.

===========================================

Overall really great earbuds. I doubt there is anything that will beat them at this price.
