I have a Windows 10 computer (Dell Inspiron 13). Since the newest Windows 10 update about 4 months ago, my internet gets disconnected at random times several dozen per hour, and I have to use the troubleshooting to get it to work for a couple minutes, before it drops off. I've tried *everything* in the troubleshooting book. Uninstalling. Installing newest version. Installing old version. Changing every setting. Formatting again. Calling time and time again, nothing works. Then I finally stumbled upon a post that specified my wireless card and the specific update, and it clicked. They recommended a wireless adapter, and this was one of Amazon's top recommendations.

Plugged it in, and it immediately went to work. I only had to select Wifi-3 (my internal adapter defaulted to 2), re-enter my home wireless password, and I was connected the entire night. It did not flicker once all night. No slow downs. I had forgotten what it was like not to have to load up my home page just to see if I was still connected or not. Should've gotten this months ago.

Somewhat deceptive, bottlenecks around 175mbps

The Archer T2U Nano is okay for certain use cases, if you have a sub 150 mbps internet connection or you just want to add internet to a device that doesn't have it and aren't particularly concerned about speed, it's an excellent value (most Wi-Fi USB adapters that are sub $15 seem to be sad, single band N150 affairs) and it takes up virtually no space. However, you shouldn't expect to get the full rated speeds that TP-Link states that the device is capable of, in my experience, after over 50 speed tests using the 5 GHz band I managed no more than 175.15Mbps, and more consistently fell to around 165Mbps. It is in fact the only device that I own that is not capable of exceeding 200Mbps on my connection. For comparison, TP-Link states that a 433Mbps connection is possible using the 5Ghz band and the 802.11ac standard. Obviously, you get what you pay for, but you should be aware that you're only getting roughly 40% of the advertised performance of this device.

Senior citizen here, mildly tech savvy. We required our new Xfinity modem to be split into 2.4 MHz and 5 MHz as our older windows laptops could not recognize the new modem.
Despite the two separate named bands, our laptops could not find any available wifi. This was frustrating as our laptops were always able to "see" our home wifi as well as neighbors' wifi. Xfinity was sympathetic, but would charge us $100 for a service visit. To be fair, we have always received very good service from Comcast/Xfinity. They were very helpful setting up the new modem as the unit was problematic. They sent a service person out at no charge. Unfortunately we didn't realize our older laptops would not recognize the new modem. We could not budget the $100 charge for an additional service call. After a few frustrating days, we contacted a techy friend. He suggested we try this unit. Works right out of the box, simple, easy set up. Windows 7 recognized and connected immediately with this device. We are in the process of installing our own router/ modem to avoid monthly rental charge from cable company. We're expecting this little gem will connect our laptops just as perfectly to the new modem combo. If a senior can install this, anyone can! Go for it if you're having connectivity issues.

Great replacement WiFi with limited support

If you don’t need certain apple features like air drop then this is a great replacement to get WiFi for those older MacBook and MacBook airs with WiFi issues.

I bought this for a Mac mini that was abused by its owner. Aside from fixing the fan and thermal paste, I discovered that WiFi though powering on and Bluetooth working (on the same card); the WiFi no linger worked.

Didn’t feel like spending upwards of $60 for a new one and then opening up the Mini again. Especially with the custom fix I implemented for its other issues.

$15, plug in to USB, install software and restart.

That’s all that was needed.

This does support Mojave but would caution in future OS versions as the software seems to be 32 bit which means TP Link needs to update the support software in the future.

All review points are accurate except support as I had not needed to contact them but graded them on ease of access of software and potential questionable future support.

Increases wifi download speed for older computer.

This increased my wifi download speed on my 9 year old laptop from 50 mps to 200 mbs. Some background. We've all seen claims about getting 400 mbs download speeds. But are we really realizing these speeds on our equipment? Using a speed test web site, I found my phone & tablet are getting 400 mbs but my computer was only getting downloads of 50 mbs. I reasoned that my pc network card was too old and slow to get any faster speeds. If your hardware isn't newer, you won't get the true speeds you may be paying for. While I might have been able to replace my network card, I was not confident trying to do that and questioned even if a generic card would actually work. This wifi adapter offered an inexpensive and easy way to try a solution.

It did work and the faster speed is very nice. Pages load much faster; almost instantly. I did have to research an issue and found that I needed to disable my pc network card so that the two wifi adapters did not conflict with each other. Disabling my network card was very easy (look it up on the internet). Set up was easy; just plug & play.

While some people wrote reviews that the unit failed after a short time, I have only had mine for about a month. So, we'll see. Glad I bought this adapter.

Attention Canadian buyers!!!!
Do not attempt to download drivers from the Canadian TP-link website! Make sure you visit the US site. The instruction sheet doesn't mention this and it caused me a lot of issues and time wasted on the support line.
This will not be an issue if you have a working optical drive as a disk is provided with the adaptor.
Once installed, the adaptor appears to be working nicely.
Installed on a mid 2010 MacBook Pro.

Very good but the packaging was over the top

It works perfectly. I didn't even need to install a driver. It was plug and play for me. However, I feel like I have to dock a star because of the packaging. You can see the nano adapter from outside the box but as you can see, the packaging is huge for something so tiny. I assume this is because of the CD installer for the driver. The box is 3 cm deep though so it's still too much. Who has ever seen a 1.25" CD? And who needs a CD to install a driver these days anyway? I could have just as easily gone online to download the driver, which as I have mentioned before, I didn't even need to do because it worked as soon as I plugged it in.

In this day and age, I really feel like I need to bring this kind of irresponsible packaging to the attention of manufacturers/sellers/buyers. We have too much rubbish in our landfills and companies need to be sensitive in making their packaging. They all say that these are recyclable, but I have learned that a very small percentage of our recyclables actually get recycled. We just have to do our part in making sure that the products we use have less packaging.

I felt like smashing my HP Spectre X360 Laptop. It uses the garbage Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 7265 for wifi and it would literally disconnect every couple of minutes. Just plug it in, place your drink on the included coaster in the box, go to the TP Link website and download the most recent driver. Windows will probably auto install one, but the website will be newer.

It get easily to overheat!

Update! I changed it from 5 star to 2 star now as it is used to be a very good prouduct. But after few weeks of using it starts to overheat most of the time like every after 30mins. Needs to unplug the usb to cool it down before putting it back to computer to make it working again. I've contacted the support so many times and it is useless they will just keep asking for install and uninstall. And it causing my other usb port a problem, my other wireless device will stop functioning everytime this usb wifi signal dropped and become disabled. This is now a garbage.

This Brand name says it all! I picked this TP-link for it's known reputed brand and I am so happy with this.
Mini size but it helps me to achieve the maximum speed of my internet. It can connect in 2.4/5G band. Because of quarantine time and I am currently working from home, I'm tired of using lan-wire for my working desktop I want to move in my room and so I give this a try. It's speed was actually faster than my laptop's built-in wifi, so sometimes I put it also in my laptop for alternative speed when I'm not working. The signal never drop.

The device is plug& play but it will perform poorly. You need to go to the tplink website, install the driver (who has a cd driver these days?) and the change the configuration (otherwise it won't connect to the 5G signal)
Now I am getting close to the max speed of my Internet plan (150 Mbps). Very satisfied, good value!

*Update*: In only lasted a few days unfortunately, now it is dropping connection, and when it does connect the speed is very slow and only last a few minutes. I am returning the product. Dissapointing.
