This Tavor tahini has the classic strong toasted flavor that works perfectly for hummus. It is interesting, because raw sesame seeds have a very neutral flavor. Because the flavor is so strong, I find it overwhelming for use as a spread, making it more useful as an add-in. One warning I have is that these arrived broken first and a mess. I considered still using it, but thought it would not be safe and went through the return and replacement process. I found it funny that they want me to send the slimy package back. If you need to make hummus for a party, you may want to buy locally to be sure you have it in time.

It is separated, oil from pulp to the point that even a blender doesn't blend it back to spooning consistency. It tastes old, and was touted at being from TOASTED sesame seeds in the description online. It certainly doesn't taste that way. I have a jar I ordered from Amazon 4 years ago or so, that I have kept in the refrigerator all this time. What is left of it is STILL tasty and easily mixes up to usable consistency. I am very disappointed and am requesting a refund of my money, EVEN IF I can't return it...

Tavor 100% Conventional Tahini Paste is a great addition to your hummus or falafel (make a sauce by adding water, lemon juice, cumin, garlic, and salt).
