Not what is shown in the listing!

This is not the version I thought I was ordering. The Amazon item listing was a picture of the “Holy Schnike” edition but as you can see in my photo, it’s just the regular version on Blu-Ray. A little disappointing. 🙁

Now my husband gets me!

I first saw this movie in high school and watched it so many times over the years that I use quotes, as someone else stated "in my everyday life"! I finally made my European husband watch it, and he was like, "ohhh, you really do quote that movie a lot!" I'm so happy to have shared this hilarious comedy with him. I'm not usually a slapstick lover, but the comedic timing in this film whether between David Spade and Chris Farley, or from the editing team,is so spot on, I can't believe I was still laughing as hard this time as when I saw it nearly 25 years ago. It's a must see comedy film.

Started off OK and then fell flat

Chris Farley could deliver a great line and then use his body in a physical comedic bit. Here he’s paired with David Spade who plays the straight guy with sarcastic comments to Farely’s manchild. I thought things got off to a good start and then fell flat. That’s not likely a popular opinion as this is considered one of Farley’s best. I like some of his other movies better.

Not the Holy Schnike edition.

They advertised the holy schnike edition and I did not receive the holy schnicke edition. I need to get ahold of amazon and see if they can make this right. The movie is great, seen a million times before.

Quintessential American humor.

Brings back some great childhood memories. It's such an innocent film in a lot of ways. The comedy is a bit slap-stick and never really dark but that's okay sometimes, and that's just the kind of feel that they were going for. Definitely worth watching. If you love innocent slap-stick comedy then this would be a 5-star movie for you. I'm only giving it 4 stars because I'd have preferred if the movie were geared more towards fully-matured adults, but really that's just due to my personal preferences in movies and humor. Like I said above, if you really prefer the innocent slap-stick stuff then this is 5/5 stars all the way.

My All Time Favorite Movie!!
Verified purchase
This is one those movies that I can watch over and over again. I went to see this with my dad when it came out in theaters. The chemistry of Farley and Spade in this film is awesome, similar to Candy and Martin in Planes, Trains and Automobiles, but with a bit more crud jokes. Some jokes are a little crude but the heart the story makes it, One of the best “SNL” films. I can quote this film almost verbatim! A Classic comedy!

Chris Farley and David Spade shine in this classic, funny movie. One of my alltime favorites, which my husband and Ii quote DAILY- no exaggeration there.

A roadtrip not soon forgotten!

Who didn't cringe watching such a pretty GTX get hammered throughout the course of this movie?! Thankfully Chris Farley and David Spade made a dynamite comedic team, with their sarcastic and bitty humor keeping you laughing the entire time. This film introduced new jokes and sayings into the American Lexicon that are still made to this day. If you don't enjoy the irreverent humor of these two Saturday Night Live alums Tommy Boy may not be your cup of tea, but for those who see the humor, "Fat guy in a little coat..." will continue to leave people laughing for years to come!
