I bought Blood Orange because I couldn't get Orange, which I like to use in coffee drinks, and in some baking.
Upon using it for the first time, the creamer curdled. I thought it had gone bad even though the date was still current. I had a new half and half creamer, so I dumped the opened one and use the new one in a fresh cup of coffee. Again the cream curdled.
Later, I tested the flavoring in a cup of milk, and it also curdled it.
I'm sure this syrup is fine for non-dairy cocktails, and perhaps there is something about the chemistry of a blood orange that has this curdling property, but not being able to use it to flavor dairy beverages (we also like to add orange flavoring to hot cocoa, in yogurt, and over ice cream) limits its use for us. Additionally, blood orange is not as naturally sweet as navel oranges, which further limits its use.
This bottle is dark amber glass with a plastic lid, if you are curious about its packaging. I prefer glass for flavorings because glass increases the shelf life.
