Just OKay and predictable. Theron good as usual. Bacon disappointing.
Verified purchase
This looked very promising from the first scene. Bacon plays a calculating diabolical but strantely compasionate kidnapper. But then it went south. Charlize Theron is always pleasant and enjoyable, as well as the popular little girl whose name escapes me at this moment.

Not-quite-a-spoiler alert: It is highly unlikely, and ABSOLUTELY totally unbelievable that the Kevin Bacon character would allow himselff to be as sexually vulnerable at the turning point of this "I thought it was going to be good" story. That pivotal scene was so stupid that it ruined the entire film for me. Those who watched it with me agreed.

Monumentally Stupid Premise and Plot

Monumentally Stupid Initial Kidnapping Situation

Monumentally Implausible Events

Drawn out for ridiculous time period. They could've taken control at the beginning but gave it up to make a long drawn out stupid stream of events that took them right back to the same level of control they had. Predictable. Subpar performances. The worst thing I have seen Kevin Bacon or Charlize Theron in. Its that bad.

Explosive, exciting; great acting

Very good storyline, although the last 15 minutes was almost over the top; what degree of flying skills did the Dr have. Wow. Kevin Bacon didn't disappoint as always and Theron was very good as well.

Great movie adaptation of an awesome novel!
Verified purchase
This movie is a based on a book by Greg Iles. I have found that most movie adaptations of books tend to stray from the story line in the book and add things that take away from the true essence of the story. In this case that did not happen and Trapped stayed very true to the novel which is beautifully written. The movie keeps you engaged and concerned about the main characters while building animosity towards the villains. The all star cast does a great job as well! I really enjoyed this movie and highly recommend to anyone!

The action held my attention. Wish it hadn't used excessive foul language.

The action was non-stop. I held my attention. The acting was excellent. The approach to the subject had a fresh twist. The only thing I did not like was the excessive foul language, which almost ruined the show for me.

Intense psychological thriller/drama

Acting was absolutely amazing (as it ought to be, given the cast!), and the filming style wasn't intrusive, which is refreshing. The characters and plot were definitely very well thought-out!

Very little blood/gore, no nudity.

...and that's all I'm going to say, lest I give something away.

I love Dakota Fanning

I love this movie. It is well written and acted, it kept my attention throughout and I have watched it more than once. This is a kidnapping story in which the kidnapping plan is really good and the plot is intense. I highly recommend this movie.
