man i really wanted to like this product, my daughter was even more enthused. Unfortunately after receiving it fairly quickly and setting out to assemble it i realized it was missing an important piece. there goes a half hour of assembling it. i contacted the seller and was promised that they would quickly ship the missing piece and it should be about three days. my daughter was bummed but still excited to have a new big girl desk for her online classes.
about a week or so later i finally get the replacement piece, after explaining to my five year old for what felt like three million times that the missing piece should be here today, only to be disappointed after checking the mail every. single. day!
so i quickly get to work laying out all the pieces and assembling it only for the piece i was waiting on to not fit flush as seen in picture 4 and 5, no big deal i figure its okay if its a bit wonky. then i go to screw in the sides and the screw hole wasn't properly drilled and the wood cracked as seen in picture 3. okay, not the best spot for a crack but i can glue it and clamp it till dry right? then my daughter goes to sit in the chair at her new big girl desk and the chair leg broke! pictures 1 and 2 show how bad the damage is and how its not fixable.
the issue is the wood dowels that add strength to the mating surfaces are too small and fall out easily. now even though they were in place the fact they are too small lets them flex and adds stress to them and they break. as soon as the support dowels are broken the screws simply cant hold and tear out the holes for them cracking the wood.
my daughter is so upset at this and im angry at the cheap materials used for such a high price point.
missing pieces and cheap materials make for an expensive waste of time!
