I love crunchy things more than I love soft things. Pretzels should be crunchy and sometimes, as I chew them, I get a pasty kick more than a crunchy kick from the chewed product. Think about it, flour and water can make paste, as my sister and I did when we were kids. We even made kites out of newspaper and flour/water paste. They didn't really fly but we loved the activity. Anyway, the Unique Pretzel Shells are outstanding because I have the crunch and I can use the ones that split into two as dipping instruments for cheesy stuff, mustard, or softened peanut butter. (Or almond butter, cashew butter, sunflower butter, cottage cheese, crab dip, artichoke dip, spinach dip, hummus, baba ganoush, salsa, or ........) Unlike most of the folks with whom I've shared these, I prefer less salt and would love to have an unsalted version of these.

I was not familiar with the Unique brand until I found these Pretzel Shells on Amazon. It turns out Unique has been making pretzels since 1921. These Pretzel Shells are made in the U.S.A. which is important to me when I'm looking at food products. They are also Vegan, Certified OU Kosher, and Non GMO.

I purchased these Pretzel Shells because they are advertised as: all natural, cholesterol free, trans fat free, sugar free, malt free, free of artificial colors, free of artificial flavors, and preservative free. They are also advertised as crunchy bite sized hollow pockets without any sort of filling.

These Pretzel Shells are somewhat more expensive than regular pretzels. Which is kind of ironic when you think about it because they are not whole, thick pretzels, and they don't have a filling. On Amazon you get a pack of 12 bags which are 10 ounce in size each. With an average price of $3.50 a bag.

I am a huge pretzel fanatic and I was eager to try these. I've never had any type of Pretzel Shells before that did not have a filling inside. My first bite of Pretzel Shells was a huge success. The Pretzel Shells are light, airy, crispy, and have plenty of salt, just the way I like my pretzels.

The consistency of Pretzel Shells is very, very light. As such I find myself eating a lot more Pretzel Shells than I would regular pretzels. These things are so addicting! I can easily burn through a whole bag in a single sitting. Perfectly salted, not too much and not too little, which most pretzel brands get wrong.

Ingredients: Unbleached Wheat Flour, Canola Oil, Salt, Yeast, and Soda.

Allergy warning: Contains Wheat and Gluten. Pretzel Shells are Lactose free, and are made in a facility that is free of tree nuts and peanuts.

Nutritional Information: Serving Size 15 pretzels. Servings per bag 9.5. 120 Calories. 0 Calories from Fat. 1.5 grams Total Fat. 0 grams Saturated Fat and Trans Fat. 0 milligrams Cholesterol. 395 milligrams Sodium. 42 milligrams Potassium. 24 grams Total Carbohydrates. 1 gram Dietary Fiber. 1 gram Total Sugars including 0 grams Added Sugars. 3 grams Protein. 7 milligrams Calcium.

At the end of the day if you are pretzel fan you will love Unique Pretzel Shells. I can appreciate the fact that Pretzel Shells are made in a peanut free facility because I have a peanut allergy. I love that there are still regular snacks out there that people with peanut allergies like myself can enjoy.

We bought these pretzel shells since we had them before and really like them. I don't know how to describe them, except they are like eating the outside of the pretzel only, since they are hollow inside. The disappointment (and three star rating) is not due to the product, rather that we received the product on Oct 19th but the bags have a freshness date of Nov 5th. We like these pretzels a lot, but that would be a lot of pretzels to eat in a short amount of time. in short - be aware that the best by date may come up quick.

All of my family loves these pretzel shells and now prefer them over regular pretzels. They are a great pretzel flavor and very crunchy. I bought them in store but they never lasted long in the house. We started ordering 6 bags at a time since it is more economically friendly and everyone including my 2 kids eats these all the time. They ask for them for a snack rather than chips or something else unhealthy. We have ordered 12 bags so far and have no plans on stopping. If you are worried about trying them, don't be. They are delicious and a great price so you can't go wrong.

You get all the crunchy outside without the dry, tasteless insides to chew through and swallow. My favorite pieces are actually the ones that have collapsed a bit. They are crunchier and crispier, I think. I love these pretzels!
For a white my local Kroger's carried them, but no more. Kroger's will ship them to me for a few dimes less than Amazon, but I trust Amazon's service connection with Unique bakery. So Amazon is the way to go for my preferred, blue-ribbon tasting pretzel.

These are the crunchiest pretzels I've ever eaten and so light and airy that you can pop more than one in your mouth as they quickly break down and dissolve after a few chews. One side of each pretzel is perfectly salted (very similar to Bavarian baked pretzel salt) while the other side is shiny and bare. The recipe for the pretzel dough has a very strong but pleasant 'baking soda' type flavor. The serious crunch factor coupled with the salty, homey flavor makes these downright addictive. Perfect party food or to take as a hiking snack too.

Been obsessed with trying to find these somewhere after having them at a party a couple of years ago. They are THAT good! So happy to find them on Amazon. Really didn't need a whole case in one shot, but they will eventually all be eaten. The price is excellent considering you pay $1.99 for a small bag at fancy NYC delis. Of note to those with dentures, my mom, who has trouble with most "hard" or "crunchy" foods, is able to eat these since the hollow shells break with little pressure.
