I mixed this with clove oil, vegetable oil and some water to kill weeds. My understanding is this will also kill other plants but that wasn't a concern for me. It arrived timely and is the product I wanted. It got one star removed because no matter how hard I tried I couldn't get the lid off. Yes I followed the directions, yes I checked the internet for hints. It was like the lid was cemented on. I finally got out my jig saw and cut the lip off. If I had been planning to use this canning or other food prep it would have been full of plastic; so one star off.

GREAT QUALITY - SO MANY USES - CHANGE PH OF HARD WATER

I purchase citric acid for years from multiple different manufacturers. This is very high quality. There are other citric acid on Amazon that cost less but it is not consumable as strong chemical smell. I use this for multiple purposes: 1) salt substitute 2) lower PH and alkalinity for poultry/pet water so they can properly absorb nutrients in their food 3) exfoliate ingredient for body butter 4) fly deterrent which works immediately unlike diatomaceous earth which causes poultry feet to break open and they fight and cause me and them to inhale diatomaceous earth - does not happen with citric acid 5) placed in poultry water as increases the absorption of doxycycline and some other antibiotics (syngergism). If you check pub med, research demonstrates that citric acid acts as an anti-fungal and will keep bacteria away from pet water (although still should be replaced daily). If you make your own lotions, toothpastes, creams etc you can use just a little bit of this as a preservative.

I bought this to make bath bombs and it works just like citric acid is supposed to work. I had a hard time getting it open. The seller did send a message/email on how to open it, but the 'tab' mentioned wasn't what I was envisioning. Because I've worked with much larger buckets of things like pool chemicals, I was expecting a tab to be something different. However, once I got it open, I have to say, I like that it closes so tightly. It means it stays fresher for a much longer period of time.

I ordered this back in Dec. & hadn't had a chance to use it until today. After prying this open with a knife, I noticed it was super light. Luckily, I ha a scale in my home & I weighed this directly after opening without using ANY of the product. Including the container, this is nowhere near 8lbs, it's less than 6 lbs. That means they are charging the listed price for less than half of what is being delivered. Therefore, I do not recommend this product.

Super happy with this purchase! I've become an essential oil fanatic and am trying to make my home as toxin free as I can. I bought this for making shower steamers/bath bombs and it has worked great for that. It's also fantastic for sprucing up different foods and drinks if you want to add a tart flavor. And it helps preserve fresh foods. With so many purposes, you can't go wrong! It also comes in a perfect size, resealable bucket . Wish the bucket wasn't made of plastic but the rest of the pros outweighs that con for me. Enjoy!
