IMPORTANT!Place the black cap of the 3 in 1 into the hole and tighten the screw to expand the plastic cap which will hold it securely to the board. Otherwise, the bookcase will probably collapse. |
IMPORTANT!After inserting the panel, ensure there is no gap between the panels. If there is a gap, check the direct on of the Cam Lock. Then turn the cam lock to the right until tight. |

Based on the reviews, I decided to take on putting together one more bookcase as opposed to getting rid of books. I'm so glad I did. What I worried about was how was I going to put it together. Being a small, 71-year-old grandmother, I'm so glad I didn't let my worries stop me from ordering it. All the parts were included and came beautifully wrapped and packed. The instructions were clear, and it went together well - and I did it myself in one day. I look at the lovely bookcase in my front room area every day, and it gives me joy. I couldn't be happier with it.

Except for me it wasn't, because I misread the instructions. All of the cam locks I've ever installed (and I've installed a lot) screw into the pre-drilled hole. These cam locks are different. The Cam Lock is placed in the hole, and then you screw the metal portion down so as to expand the plastic bottom enough to tighten it in the hole.
It took me a long time, and a bit of an embarrassment, before I figured that out. Hopefully this will help those of you who might make a similar mistake.
Let me save some of you some time and headaches
