i am very happy to have order this item i love it, it does exactly what it's suppose to. I have a rotweiler and even though she still a puppy, she's a big puppy and is able to stand up on it and it's holding its own cause she is heavy for 7months. i would be happy to recommend this item to any and everyone, that this is a item to have if you have pets that are not broken in and know the house rules, also Charlie who is my rottie she has no problem going into it, just a great item.

Safety Hazard for Small Dogs!

This gate slams shut automatically. Small dogs can get injured or chocked. My 11.6 Shih Tzu pushed the door to enter the room and the door trapped his head between the bar and the opening. The door trapped his small head when it slammed.
The idea of it closing by itself sounds good, but it is a safety hazard for small dogs. I caution you!
Once again, I do not recommend it for small
Dogs. I thought my dog was going to break his neck trying to get out. I was lucky that I was in the next room. I consider the gate a safety hazard for small dogs.

I have a very smart pointing lab puppy not yet 10 weeks but already 27+ pounds. He’s a furry cannonball. I’ve tried pens in my laundry room but the little guy breaks out of everything. This gate wasn’t the easiest to install but once up it’s keeping him contained in the back laundry room with the dog door and out of trouble. When he gets excited and starts the ankle-biting he goes in back. Want to avoid putting him in his crate because I want him to like the crate, but sometimes he needs a time out. Haven’t experienced the issues others have reported and gate seems sturdy so far. Wooden-framed doorway was a good tight fit with one of the two side extensions. Very likely will purchase another for the stairway to our second floor.

Edits- Contacted the manufacturer, they were quick to respond and send a replacement. Very easy to deal with and handled the situation very well. Hopefully new one is as good as the rest of the reviews and last one was just a fluke.

The gate arrived fine, was pretty easy to install. Seemed like it would be a good product but after only a couple months the top area where gate attaches to frame came apart and the gate falls off every time you unlatch the other side to open it. This was rarely used in the 3-4 months we had it.

I would recommend if it were more durable. However spending a little more seems to be needed if you want it to last.

This gate is perfect. Needed to keep our dog out of one side of the house. Tried a different gate first that was retractable, she figured out how to get under that by day 3. Since she can squeeze thru our wrought iron pool fence I was skeptical about this one too but the openings are only about 2inches wide so there is no getting thru. My dog small and is only 12lbs and she doesn’t fit. Also I like the height. Anything lower she would be able to jump but hasn’t even attempted this one.
The gate is very easy to use and the self closing feature is great. Have little kids and they are able to use it too. Swings both ways and stays open if you push it out far enough otherwise it closes after you.
The “glow in the dark” feature is basically worthless - I’m guessing due to where we have them it doesn’t get enough light but that’s just a minor detail I don’t really care about. The functionality is perfect. Very sturdy without damaging the wall.

It’s made it a few months and stood up to four dogs that are 60/80lbs, they don’t jump on the gate but it’s tall enough they don’t try to leap over either. If you have carpel tunnel or hand issues it might prove a chore to open. Otherwise a great product
