I just got my FiTerra True Wireless Earbuds and I after using them all afternoon I decided I had to write a review. What you need to know: I’m on an iPhone 8, these are my third pair of wireless earbuds, I listen while exercising, working in the house and outside.

The sound quality is excellent. Whether listening to the rhythmic base of Sheppard’s “Geronimo”, Dean Ray’s steel guitar, Brandon Flower’s flying vocals, Sia, B.O.B., Kong’s of Leon, or any other of a number of artists, the sound quality holds up. I noticed no cracking or popping that I even hear with my wired earbuds. The base is comparable to my $500 over ear headphones.

The user interface deserves a shout out. Syncing was a cynch, and the audio cues “power on” “connected” “secondary pairing” were very helpful. In fact, I have another pair of earbuds that were several hundred dollars, and I am never sure if both earbuds are connected, one, or neither.

The pairing between the FiTerra earbuds is rock solid, which I’m pleased about because reliable pairing is a problem with my other pair. No fading sound or random disconnects by the secondary headphone. At this price point the FiTerra earn the 5-stars.

I forgot to mention that I’ve been listening for over 4 hours and the earbuds are still going strong.

I’ll write an update in 3 or 4 months.

2.0 out of 5 starsComfortable, but sound quality is bad
Reviewed in the United States on September 10, 2018
I used these for a week in OBX and got a good variance of use (walking, bike riding, exercising) and while these are comfortable and easy to use, the sound quality really suffers.

1. Comfort: These are the most comfortable in ear headphones I've ever worn. They fit very nicely and (almost) never fall out. The only time they didn't want to stay in was this morning when it was raining and I was walking to work. My ears don't sweat so they do stay in while exercising.

2. Ease of use: They are very easy to use. I've seen questions where folks have stated only one ear bud works. Make sure you turn both ear buds on! You must turn them on individually. I'm still learning the button functions on each bud; I press one and the music stops but sometimes it takes a few presses for the music to continue.

3. Charging/battery life: So far these have only died on me once. This was after fully charging the pod and letting it charge the buds several times. I can't recall the amount of hours I got out of it, but it was acceptable. Charging is really easy and the pod is pretty convenient. The lid is magnetic so unless you drop it, it won't fall off.

4. Sound: This is where this product falls smack on its face. The sound quality is very poor. The bass is almost non-existent, and what bass does exist is very muffled. There is a constant crackling/gritty/static noise while music is playing (doesn't really happen during podcasts). It sounds very cheap, even for a pretty inexpensive pair. Sound quality is huge. You can have the most comfortable, easy to use headphones on the market, but if the sound quality is bad, the rating goes down the tubes. This is a shame because everything else about these ear buds are pretty good.

5.0 out of 5 stars Sound quality and features punch well above the $50 price point

I use earbuds mostly while sitting at my desk. I like true wireless so that I don't get caught every time I reach to grab something or turn to talk to someone. I've been using a pair of QCY Q29 earbuds for a while that I actually really enjoyed, but now that I've tried out these RL FiTerras, I'll never go back.

First, the sounds quality is great. I'll admit I'm not an audiophile, so I can't comment beyond the fact that they sound just as good as my laptop's speakers, my TV's speakers, my Q29s, and for me that's great.

The reason I'll only ever use my FiTerras now is because they have a couple of really great features.

First, the magnetic case presses the earbuds down into the charging docks to ensure that they're charging when encased. My Q29s were AWFUL at this - I had to constantly jiggle them or reset them until the light came on, and even then I was never 100% sure if they were charging. Sometimes I'd pull them out after a full day of charging and the voice was already yelling at me that the battery was low. EXTREMELY frustrating. Charging should be table stakes, but not everyone has gotten this right, so props to RL for doing it well with these FiTerra.

The really big killer feature that seals the deal for me is what I'm calling the "ear rest" design. In the second picture I uploaded, I hope you can see the thin little notch that sticks out at the top, right above the connection point for the charging pins. It's a seemingly innocuous design that you probably wouldn't think twice about, but it's actually insanely genius.

With my Q29s, the only contact point with my ear (i.e. the only thing keep it from falling out) was the rubber plug itself. They were kind of chunky earbuds, so there was a decent amount of weight floating out in the air away from my body, all hinging on that rubber plug from coming loose. I found them falling out ALL the time, so I even increased the size of the plug to jam it in there tighter (and jamming big stuff in my ear isn't exactly what I would call enjoyable), plus I would twist it around to try and find a better balance point; even then, they still fell out!

Aside from the Q29s, I've also worn Airpods. While a lot of the weight hangs down in those (in my opinion ridiculous looking) stems, the sleek, smooth component that goes in your ear still isn't very secure. Another example of Apple prioritizing style over function.

The little ear rest on these FiTerras provides a great support for the earbuds, and does so comfortably, without having to jam stuff in your ear. They are extremely comfortable AND stable. I've gone on jogs and shaken my head around and they don't fall out. It's so simple, but so refreshing, especially after using other products that have failed at this.

And all of this - great sound quality, killer features - comes at just $50!!! These should be priced with Airpods at $150+, so to get them at $50 is a steal. These are a must have for folks that want true wireless earbuds.

5.0 out of 5 stars Really good value!

These are the fourth different set of true wireless ear buds in this price range that I have tried ($45-$60). Each has had at least one problem that prompted me to return them. The first pair didn't fit in my ears well and kept falling out. They also didn't get loud enough. The second pair kept dropping the Bluetooth connection to the right ear bud. The third had great sound, but had no noise isolation of any kind. I turned them up all the way when on an airplane and still could hear more background noise than music. I was about to give up on finding anything that I liked in this price range, and start looking at much more expensive ones.

Good thing I didn't give up.

These are loud enough, have very good sound (not audiophile quality, but I don't expect that in this price range), decent bass, a stable Bluetooth connection, block out background noise well and are the most comfortable of the four I tried. I am very happy, finally!

UPDATE: I've been using these for phone calls the past several days. They work really well. The noise reduction is great! I was on a conference call in our datacenter. If you've ever been in a data center, you know how loud the equipment noise can be. The other parties on the call didn't hear any of the data center noise and I could hear them just fine. I am truly impressed with these.

UPDATED 11/13/19

I have to agree with those who are struggling with the battery life of these. After two months from new the battery life dropped from four hours to one, and seemingly decreasing even more. I've tried various methods of charging from keeping them topped up with the charger plugged in all the time to letting it run all the way down and recharging. I have two pairs of these and I can't tell if the issue is that the buds won't accept a full charge anymore or if it's the charger itself. If long battery life means spending more up front on something more reliable, I'll do it rather than buying these over and over---they shouldn't be disposable.

*end update*

I've had many Bluetooth earbuds, and they all typically fall short in one way or another. Most often it is because 'buds that are tethered to each other have a heavy-ish controller on them for volume, tracks, pause, etc. So inevitably one side always feels like it's getting pulled out of my ear or the controller gets caught up in a shirt collar. I was waiting for the technology to be around long enough to make *good* earbuds affordable, and that time is now.

The charger for these buds is quite novel and brilliant, really. The ability to charge them when you're nowhere near a power source is pretty fantastic. And, they also sound excellent. I'm one who uses an EQ when listening to tunes (iPhone), because sometimes the bass just needs to be kicked up with most any earbuds. I don't have that problem with these. The range of fidelity is excellent, and a flat EQ seems to actually be perfect. I've had a phone conversation with them in and it sounded like the person was right next to me.

The claim of noise-cancelling seems a little lofty to me, however. All earbuds are if you turn them up loud enough. Though they do make peripheral conversations impossible to understand (train, city streets, etc.), it does not cancel them by any means. Someone sitting next to you talking into their phone like a it's a walkie talkie from the Korean War is still going to make it through.

Regardless, they sound great, are very comfortable, and I think my charge lasted about 4 hours at a pretty significant volume. As the drivers burn in, I think they're actually sounding even better. And man is it liberating not having a wire!

I am a person who reads the most negative reviews of a product I consider purchasing. I admit I was skeptical when I saw all five star reviews for these earbuds, especially as they were few and recently posted. When I watched the video for these earbuds on the Amazon site I figured, as Amazon always gives superior customer service, I could return them if they proved to be unsatisfactory.
I can only figure this is a new company and this is their market-entry product. Everything indicated about these earbuds is true; from the wearing comfort, ease of pairing, and sound quality. The price is nothing short of a bargain. If you are looking for a superior set of earbuds I highly recommend this product.

I've had quite a few wireless and true wireless headphones. I thought for the price why not give these a try. I was quite surprised at the quality, sound, and connection. They connect fast, are easy to use, and sound good. I've used these in the gym a few times and on a 5 mile run so far. They stayed in my ears my whole run without problems. Phone calls are also very clear using them. They seem pretty new to the market, so I am hoping they come out with some colors rather than just black. The little charging pod is nice too. For the price I haven't found a better true wireless set.

Received my Fiterra earbuds today and here are my impressions: The look and feel of the packaging, the accessories, the earbuds, and the case left me with the impression this is a quality product. The fit of the earbuds in my ears was surprisingly secure. I seriously doubt they would ever slip out during even a very sweaty run. Once in, the earbuds don't stick out of your ears much. In fact, they were close to being flush with my ear. Perfect. Pairing was easy, quick and flawless. I paired the earbuds with an iPhone 6 and an iPod Touch 6 and listened to a wide variety of Rock and Jazz music and was pleasantly surprised by how life like and enjoyable their performance was. Using the earbuds, I called my wife, a woman intolerant of low fidelity phone conversation, and she told me she thought I was speaking directly into the phone without earbuds. we were both very impressed with the conversation quality. So far I love these earbuds. The next test will be battery life. As soon as I get some history, I'll let you know how they do.

Update: Now that I’ve had these a few months I can say I am still very happy with the earbuds. The battery life is three hours as advertised, sound quality excellent, and they continue to stay in my ears even on long sweaty runs. I love that you can turn one off and the other shuts off automatically.

3.0 out of 5 stars Great Design; missing the basics
Reviewed in the United States on November 11, 2018

Reviewed @ $55
Let me start off the review saying this, I have only had these now for a little under a week, so these are just my initial findings. I am coming from a Hopday pair of bluetooth headphones that finally crapped out. Those are in the 20-30 dollar range, so I had big expectations from a 55 dollar pair.

Pros
-awesome design; these fit snugly in your ear. This is coming from someone who has very tiny ears and ear canals naturally, and generally I can't use headphones that don't have over ear support. However, these fit in snugly and are a comfortable wear.
-On earphone buttons are intuitive and easy to use. (one complaint in cons)
-Easy pairing process
-Slick designed case

Cons:
-I wish there were volume controls on the earphones themselves
-Biggest complaint is the sound quality. These have really great bass ends, but they struggle as soon as you have any substantial treble (think cymbals + vocals). They have a rattly sound that would be heard in low budget headphones that had been blown-out. This is big turn off for me as many of the types of music I listen to (alternative, punk, metal) feature these.

All in all these are good headphones if they pulled the price down a little. If they can't get basic sound right, then I think they will need to bring down the price.

I've had for nearly a week and these make them Apple thingies that dangle out people's ears look plain dumb. Fit is great, sound is great, the pairing and turning on process is "satisfying" (you'll see), and the magnetic case is "satisfying" too (you'll see). Couple things to note:

(1) There are three sizes of ear bud tips that should accommodate all ear canals, but although the earbuds are easy to pull off, they are quite tricky to push back on to the body. Be patient.
(2) When I'm playing music, they operate flawlessly. I have noticed though that when I just have them in my ear with no audio source actively playing, one of them will sporadically announce that it is disconnecting then reconnecting. A very, very minor irritation.
