I pay $10 a month even tho I can use the sync module because it will take several minutes before you get a notification. (It should be instant so I think they do this so you pay for the service) It's instant when you pay for the service.(Well, maybe not instant but 10-15 seconds.) There is no reason that it should get to their servers and then sent back to my phone before it sends to the sync module inside my house 15 feet away on fast WiFi.

I also had issues with notification response time, took 15+secs. But after exploring phone and app setting I realized one was on 2g and other on 5g internet connections. After matching internet connection the response time was near instant, 1sec or less.

Local storage is very poorly implemented and in my case will not work at all. They have no interest in resolving their software issues because it doesn't drive revenue. I also have delay issues or sometimes no notifications at all. Don't purchase this purely on the need to save and view locally without subscription, you may well be disappointed.

I believe the Sync Module 2 is mainly recommended to prolong battery life (if you plan to use batteries and not hardwire) even with grandfathered accounts

Has anyone else experienced what Jerry Carpenter experienced regarding the long delay for notifications if you don’t pay for the monthly cloud storage plan?

The other answer states that video notifications are instant if you pay for the service... not true. I pay for the service and my notifications definitely have a lag time... if they show up at all. And btw, if you need to call customer service at Blink... forgettabout it. They will give you BS answers and just make them up as they go. I ended up breaking my video doorbell by following their 'advice' THANKS BLINK SUPPORT!

Yes I have also started having very long delays before I get a notification. I never had this issue before but now this happens all the time. It seems like it started within the past few months.

I can view on the app without the subscription but there is a slight lag time. The batteries are still OK after a year of use. They’re in an area with minimal activation. These are just cameras, not the doorbell.
