Hi,
Thank you for asking about our new Blink Video Doorbell! Yes! The Video Doorbell is compatible with both the first generation Sync Module and the Sync Module 2. With this, it can absolutely be connected to any existing Blink system that you may have. It is important to note that each Sync Module can support up to 10 devices.
The answer that it works is misleading. It works, but not the way your older cameras work. It will not store any video without a subscription. You need a Sync Module 2 to have local storage. I just installed mine and it is almost useless. You get a notification of movement, but only live video, no recorded clips. My live video is not even working, maybe because of aluminum siding, but it is not worth troubleshooting based on what I understand now about the way it works.
It depends on what you mean by "works". Yes, the doorbell works and you can see live action. But if you want the same functions you had with the origional module, you have to have the subscription service.
I had no problems using my first generation sync module. Beware many customers like me can’t get the mount plate to lock to the doorbell. I’m returning.
