The questions to ask are: what is the source? What processing method is used. The Solvay method: Although this method of producing baking soda ash is widely used, it is also problematic because the chemicals used in the process are pollutants and cause disposal problems. (The most common method used today) Trona ore for Wyoming, once mined is refined into a slurry of sodium sesquicarbonate -soda ash (sodium carbonate) and baking soda (sodium bicarbonate)...and the baking soda manufactured is more than 99 percent pure.

Baking soda is ALWAYS aluminum free. I think you are confusing soda and powder.

Arm and Hammer isn't organic. To me, this brand does taste a bit better. But organic is a big deal to me, so that makes Pure Organic brand a better choice.
