The back of the chair is secured to the base of the chair only by the armrests and four screws. This can clearly be seen in the photos that the seller posted. I wouldn’t recommend it. I bought one about 7-8 months ago and the chair already broke. I weigh less than the 270lbs listed as max. The problem is that the bottom seat part is connected to the back via the two arm rest. These arm rest are held in place by four screws so anytime the back part is leaned back it creates quite a bit of tension on those screws which break. I bought this chair I just like this chair. It wasn’t comfortable at all. I kept it because it was a pain in the butt to return it. My four-year-old uses it. I’m going to buy myself a different one once I can get in an actual store and sit in the chair. It’s hard to buy a chair online.

Description says it's almost 25 in but in reality more like 22 in. from the inside of each arm. Front to back it's about it's 23 in. It is narrower at the back of the seat and wider in the front. If you are looking to purchase read the 3 and 2 star reviews. Personally I would spend a little more to get a better made chair.

I would get the Mr Clean scrubbing sponge with a little soap and water, those sponges are fantastic and they don`t do damage.
