Hello, The center button is DPI switch. It have 3 DPI levels available (800-1200-1600). The higher CPI, the faster the cursor on your screen will move. You are free to adjust the mouse sensitivity to match your activity.

It is stored in your mouse. look at the bottom below off/on switch and the nano light. It is kind of awkward to pull out but you can use a butter knife to slip it out.

You might need to make sure it downloaded the drivers. I have an older Sony Vaio & it didn't show on my taskbar or in devices until I got the drivers.
