As a smart plug... it's a regular TP-Link smart plug.
The energy monitoring is not particularly accurate and not particularly functional. I compared the measurements from the plug against the measurements from a Kill-A-Watt power meter (which is kind of the reference for affordable consumer power meters), and the KP-115 smart plug consistently underestimated power usage by 20%. Also, it gives you total consumption for the day or week, but the actual *power* measurement in the Kasa app is an instantaneous measurement and it doesn't update automatically, and there's no extra functionality to see graphs or updates or anything. It's okay if you just want to see "how much power is this using *now*", but for the price premium I had really hoped to get more than that.
