I wanted to love it. I missed Sex and the City, and relished in the idea of another series with four women leads.
The beginning part discussing some tribe in Asia called the Masuo, was trite and ridiculous.
To say it is a letdown is an understatement.
Cliche, shallow, stereotypes abound, and terrible writing.
Episode 1, minute 15:35 is a great example of this. It's another example of hollywood and big corporations demonstrating the continued perpetuation of divisiveness, as well as promoting segregation, like it's a good thing.
The lesbian character is kind of funny, and the character, Quinn, is well acted. Otherwise, nothing else seemed remarkable.
I agree with reviewer SB, the littering scene was gross.
The only time I laughed was when Whoopi Goldberg's character was giving the lead character a talking to.
The beginning of most of the episodes are BS academic sounding lectures of anthropology mixed with critical race theory; and just BS AF.
Despite all of this, I cannot stop watching the train wreck, as some of it is entertaining. I am human!
The end is so stupid, and an insult to strong black women everywhere. No self respecting woman goes chasing after a man like this. Definitely NOT feminism, if that's what they were going for.
