My biggest concern about adding butter type extracts is of course the taste. I use it to enhance brown butter in cookies. If you open the bottle and smell. You are not going to get the fresh smell of butter. Several reviews complain about it not being imitation butter extract. This makes no sense. No where on the packaging does it use the word “imitation” butter. You will smell a sweet alcohol smell. I don’t think I have ever purchased any extract and it smelled incredible. Most extracts are concentrated and use alcohol. Alcohol is a good preservative for many extracts. However, when you use this butter extract in baked goods? I think it is one of the best. As with any butter enhancing product? Please use it sparingly and got the love of god measure it don’t eyeball it!
