If you're looking for a luxury chair, this isn't it. It's not that soft, so that brings the comfort of it down a notch. However, if it was that bad, I'd send it back. I can't afford a luxury chair right now, so this will work until then. The chair depth is kind of short for me, so my legs hang over more than I like (I'm 5'6"). I placed a footrest underneath my desk and that, with the chair tilted back, is an ideal, comfortable enough position. Without the footrest, I have to use my feet to keep the chair tilted, and that is not comfortable on my back. I also have a chair cushion on the seat, so it's a bit more comfortable. The backrest was a bit of a struggle to assemble, but not out of the norm for office chairs. The chair is sturdy; doesn't squeak and not loose anywhere. The color isn't really white, it's more of an off white. I don't know what it is, but it seems every time something is described as white on Amazon, it's not a true white. The price of this chair is another reason why I'm keeping it. Not too many chairs in that price range that are somewhat decent. If I was working from home, I think I'd get another chair. I can't see sitting in this without significant pain after 8 hours. The name speaks for itself; Amazon BASICS.
