The confirmation email that I got from Asurion seems to imply that basically you are covered for damage done by a power surge, and that's about it. If your product is still under warranty, then it seems that you need to go through the manufacturer if there is a product failure. Also, I read the first 2 pages of 5 star reviews, and NONE OF THEM stated that they used the insurance. All the 5 star reviews on the first 2 pages stated that they were glad to have the insurance, NOT that they actually used it. As far as I'm concerned, those 5 star reviews that I read could be fake, or at least are worthless reviews because they don't confirm that a claim was made. I think that I just wasted my money for nothing.
