After he installed it, I connected it with the Meross app which automatically routed me to apple home app.
I had one issue as I needed the secret code somewhere in the box or on the product to connect. Since it was already installed and I couldn’t find the code anywhere else... Anyway, I somehow was able to connect it using the Meross app which is all I really needed.
The next morning I heard back from customer support with the code, so that was awesome that they got back to me so fast.
I connected everything to Alexa and it’s cool to turn the lights on and off with my voice.
On my panel, the first one from the left is the Meross light in this review, then two dimmer switches from Meross, then a TP LINK Kasa switch. While the Kasa switch didn’t require any codes, the light has disappeared from the Kasa app a few times, which is annoying. However, Alexa still remembers it.
You can see that the Meross switch is a little simpler than the Kasa as it only has a little circle at the bottom. The Kasa one lights up the Wifi and a larger circle when it’s dark. I prefer the simpler one, but you might like the Kasa one better.
Since I’m using Alexa to control everything, I’m not too worried about mixing brands. Hopefully, they all last as I installed a decorative plate which is semi permanent. Found the plate on Amazon for $10 in case you’re interested.
Anyway, very cool having a Smart Kitchen and so far Meross products have performed well and their prices are one of the best.
Good luck with your project.

Initial Review:
I've used a Nexia bridge and Z-Wave devices for more than a decade, and this switch was intended as an exploration into alternative devices to use as we transition to Apple Homekit. After 10 months of use, it has locked up twice and become completely unresponsive, both through Homekit and using the physical switch itself. The only way to fix it was to remove the faceplate and reset the device. It also has a security flaw that makes the device accessible to the web with no security, which means that anyone can log into the switch GUI with full access... not good for a device that is part of the system that controls the door locks and security cameras for a home. Meross has issued a firmware update that claims to remove the web GUI and lock down the switch, but you have to set up an account with them through their app to download and apply it, even though you can set the device up in Homekit without their app. As a retired IT guy, I receive enough spam and would prefer not to provide my information for another company to resell, especially a foreign company. The worst part about the security flaw is that most people probably set it up like I did; without the Meross app , and probably have no idea about the security flaw. So... I gave it a try, but this thing isn't going to work for us.
As soon as it connected to the wifi my Alexa app said there was a new device. Google home also picked it up. Great switch! This is a review of the single pole switch. At the time of this review they do not have a double pole version.

Clear installation instructions with wire caps, screws, and faceplate (but as mentioned, you can fit it in your standard Decora wall plate if you have one). Onboarding with HomeKit is very simple and only involves scanning the code. We've installed many HomeKit switches, and even the more expensive ones felt less sturdy and less polished than this meross switch.
Really impressed and worth every penny. I haven't received a single no response from this accessory, and the response time is immediate. If you're looking for a HomeKit switch, this is definitely the one to buy. Hope to see more HomeKit products from meross in the future, because this switch is outstanding.

The only reason I didn't give the "Easy to Install" rating as 5 stars is that the screws shipped with the switch are wrong and have incorrect threads. The should be 6-21 Machine threads, but are something much finer and as such won't screw into an standard electrical box. To make this more frustrating the switch requires flat head screws or you cannot install the clip on face plate. Regular Electrical box screws are Pan head and don't work. I was able to get the correct screws and attach the face plate after making a trip to Home Depot, but I shouldn't have needed to do that.
Hopefully Meross addresses this oversight in the future. Its an easy fix.

1. Run 2.4GHz and 5GHz networks with separate unique SSIDs.
2. Run a combined 2.4GHz and 5GHz SSID
3. Disable 5Ghz completely and run only 2.4GHz
4. Ban their mac address from the 5Ghz networks
5. Pin them to the closest node in the mesh network so they don't switch between nodes.
6. Bind their Mac addresses to specific IPs.
The result for me is the same. It's only a matter of time before they'll stop responding and I have to either reboot my mesh network or I have to delete and re-add the device to the Home app in iOS. The latter is so painful because I'll have to re-add them to ALL the scenes that I want them part of. I can't count how many times I've done this in the past few months.
I contacted Meross support. They said to add it to the Meross app. I tried that and that failed as well. Once added to the Home app on iOS, they should be discoverable in the Meross app. This part works, and I can see them there. Then I click on "Add" for a device and it never shows up in the home tab of the app. So I can't even try and update the firmware (not that new firmware is available). I have the exact same problem with their WiFi Smart plugs that I bought. While I've been fiddling around and contacting support, my extended return window (due to christmas) has passed and I'm stuck with them. I'm replacing all 3 of them with my extremely reliable (but much more expensive) Lutron switches. Live and learn I guess.
TLDR; Unreliable, constantly switching between "updating"->"No Response" in the home app in iOS. Can't add to Meross app either. YMMV on your Wifi Network. Proceed with caution. Would not recommend.

I've bought two and need three more, but will probably toss these and get a better brand that doesn't feel like it came from the dollar store.
