5.0 out of 5 starsOutstanding Gluten Free Waffles!

So I have been off gluten for about four years not because I want to, but because I can't eat it. One of the worst things about not being able to eat gluten is how expensive GF is. I got six boxes of this pancake/waffle mix for under $15, so you can't beat that price.

I make the whole box at one time, and make Belgian waffles from the mix. Then I freeze the waffles and eat them for breakfast or lunch during the week. Here are some tips from someone that has made a LOT of waffles in her lifetime.

If you are making the whole box, use four EXTRA LARGE eggs, or at least large. If you can, leave the eggs out to reach room temp and slightly heat your liquid. Mix all the wet ingredients first, and keep some extra liquid, I use 2% milk, on hand in case you need a bit more than the recipe calls for. then add the dry mix to your liquids but do NOT over mix your batter. there should be small lumps still in the batter when you are done mixing it.
This part is key, leave the batter to "rest" for about 10 minutes. You will see small bubbles breaking the surface. While the batter is resting, I turn on my Belgium waffle maker to heat up. Spray your waffler with pam or similar. Then, without mixing the batter again, I scoop out the batter onto the waffle iron surface. Make sure the waffler has time to reheat after you take out each waffle before putting more batter in. (IF I am making blueberry waffles, I scoop about 1/2 of the amount of batter into the waffler, then throw some thawed bloobs onto that batter and then scoop the second half of the batter in before closing the lid. It's not a big thing if all the bloobs are not covered with batter)

These waffles come out with this awesome crunchy outside and a chewy tender inside. I just reheat them in a toaster oven at work.

1.0 out of 5 starshigh arsenic levels & 21 per cent pandemic price increase
Reviewed in the United States on March 1, 2021
I suggest you read Consumer Reports' article about high arsenic levels in brown rice -- and even higher concentrations in baking mixes such as this one. It's a trade off: wheat/corn free v. a high level of a known carcinogen. But, having my priorities in all the wrong places, I suppose, what truly galls me is that the company and/or Amazon raised the price by 21 per cent in honor of the pandemic. And, one year into the pandemic, as many supply lines have normalized, the price is still a ridiculous 21 per cent higher than the already-expensive pre-pandemic price. An alternative, if you'd like to save money and avoid the arsenic, is to find a from-scratch pancake recipe. Replace the recipe's wheat flour with almond flour or some other non-rice flour. I grew up eating pancakes from mixes and, then, switched to Namaste when my needs changed. Learning how simple it is to make pancakes from scratch was liberating. It's really, really simple, Folks. You have to add eggs and oil and milk to this mix, anyway. Making from scratch just means a little leavening agent (baking soda or powder or both, depending on the recipe), almond (or other) flour, some sugar, some vanilla perhaps -- you're done. You're healthier and you've got more money in your wallet than if you buy this overpriced box of carcinogenic brown rice.

3.0 out of 5 stars Great Waffles

Kind of a mixed review. This is my first time to use this product, but I’ve eaten gluten free for 20 plus years. Namaste has the best GF spice cake bar none so I thought I’d try this pancake mix. I made the pancakes according to instructions on the box using oat milk. Pancakes were terrible. They didn’t rise at all. Extra baking powder didn’t help. The texture was rather plastic like. The pancakes had no flavor of their own. I was going to throw out the other boxes I had, but one review said waffles were the best. So I tried the waffles. They are very good. Crunchy outside and soft inside. I used 1/8 teaspoon of orange flavoring and the taste came through. So, don’t bother with pancakes, but makes good waffles. I still think Pamalas pancake mix is superior, but it has some milk and almond flour in it. Also, separate your eggs and beat the egg whites until stiff and fold them into the mix as the final ingredient. It helps with the loft of the waffle.

1.0 out of 5 stars Paid for package of 6, but only 1 showed up

We had purchased this product before without any problems and liked the waffles. They were light and fluffy, yet filling. So we were eager to purchase the same product again. However, it looks at though the order is considered complete through Amazon, but only 1 box of the 6 actually arrived (it was in a single envelope). I've tried to find someone to contact about the problem, but there isn't any customer service or company information that I could locate. It looks like I just paid over $30 for 1 box! These waffles aren't worth that much money!!

1.0 out of 5 stars Amazon Delivery is having a giggle, right?

My beef isn’t with the product itself. I’ve purchased this before and it’s amazing. Highly recommend the product, but Amazon Prime is having a giggle with the delivery. 1/6 of my pack arrived, with no amazon packaging, with a sticker attached to the actual item. I purchased a pack of 6, received 1 dirty, damaged item with no amazon packaging. This is a food item. How am I supposed to eat this? I’ve attached the photo that amazon delivery took as proof of delivery because this is ridiculous.

4.0 out of 5 stars THE Best Gluten Free Belgian Waffle Mix
Reviewed in the United States on August 28, 2020

Excellent product for Belgian waffles. For pancakes, not so much unless you use less liquid (water or milk). The reason I gave a 4 rather than a 5 start rating is because this product is VERY expensive compared to other gluten free waffle and pancake mixes. However, the taste is superior, therefore I purchased 4 boxes through Amazon because my local grocery store (Publix) here in Atlanta stopped carrying this product after COVID-19 hit. Don't know if it's a distribution problem or the company decided to just sell through Amazon. I just hope they keep selling this mix!

My hubby and I have recently decided on a gluten-free diet so I began researching for foods we could eat. I stumbled onto Namaste foods and ordered several different items. The first one we tried was waffles made from the pancake and waffle mix. Oh boy, were we surprised....they are delicious. They cooked up nice and crunchy, yet tasty, too....just the way we like them. They were very filling; we could only eat one little round waffle. I'm anxious to try the other Namaste mixes we bought. I am very pleased, so far, and do undoubtedly recommend Namaste.

Our daughter has many food allergies so we make waffles with this mix using cinnamon applesauce (credit to chefs at Disney World) in place of just water. They are a great snack for her especially after school and when traveling. I use a small waffle maker (toaster size) and bag and freeze them. Then she just pops them in a toaster or eats them room temp. If you have dairy allergy, while traveling beware of using a toaster that buttered toast has been reheated in.

5.0 out of 5 stars BEST EVER WAFFLES WHICH FOOL EVERYONE....

Why tell my guests what I'm feeding them when I already know they are 'everything' free, including 'yeast'!!! Hard to find anything that is 'yeast free' and yet here it is! I don't eat meat or poultry or dairy or yeast but I can eat these! How? I just don't bother adding the eggs! My waffles come out just great and again I don't mention anything to my guests who rave how delicious they are! I know they just had a very healthy meal! Here is what I do:
To the ingredients I add:
1. My favorite...Organic 'unsweetened' Vanilla Hemp Milk as my liquid of choice instead of water
Living Harvest Tempt Hemp Milk, Unsweetened Vanilla, 32-Ounce Containers (Pack of 12)
2. I might add a pinch of stevia or a pinch more of organic pure vanilla extract (alcohol free)
3. I DO NOT add any eggs! (just add a bit more of your liquid of choice)
4. Other milks to use are the Organic Chocolate Hemp Milk for a treat, etc...
5. On top of my waffle I use - 'Soy Free' Earth Balance and either eat it just like that which I must say is delicious or topped w/freshly cut strawberries when in season or some seasonal fruit. Syrup is sugar, so not an option for me, but my family will pour on that as a topping, yet they have admitted that it's really yummy without it!

Leftover mix stores well....just stir up really well and you might need to add a bit more of your 'milk' of choice to get that right consistency once again. Yum!

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent taste, fluffy pancakes, allergen-free!
Reviewed in the United States on July 20, 2016

My son has several food allergies and intolerances, including to gluten and dairy, along with a multitude of other things including almonds. The highlight of our annual family trip to Walt Disney World are the mickey waffles, especially for my son. This past year was the first time we've taken this trip since his diagnosis. We were thrilled to find out that this is the allergen-free pancake mix used at Disney World resorts, after chatting with the chef at The Wave. Disney does such an excellent job with allergy accommodations, and the waffles (allergen-free this trip!) ended up giving my son a true sense of normalcy--where he could eat food he was really missing since his diagnosis.

Even before our trip was over, we ordered a case of this pancake & waffle mix to be waiting at home for us once we returned home. The mix makes pancakes that taste great! It's super simple to use, given the recipe on the box (in english and french). They're light and fluffy, hold up both as pancakes eaten fresh, as well as to both freezing/reheating, and using as a base for a breakfast sandwich. We will DEFINITELY be purchasing this mix again once this case is eaten. We highly recommend this both as a mix for non-allergy families, and especially for allergy families.
