Helped My Anemia

I was severely anemic until I made drastic adjustments with my diet. The addition of Plantation Blackstrap Molasses has been very helpful in increasing my red blood count. Within two weeks after registering at 5.3 (when the normal count is 12), I returned to my doctor for a follow-up, and it had increased to a 7.2. Although the taste is absolutely awful, and the only reason for the 4 star rating, it is super effective for my anemia and I am very thankful for it!

False label not as advertised

Clinical studies on blackstrap molasses show health benefits below 50 calories per serving. This picture label shows 42 calories. Low and behold I order the product and it’s 60. 60 calories per serving won’t get it done. I tell Amazon customer service about this and they refund my money on the spot and tell me not to send the product back. However the label on the pictures still clearly states 42.
What’s going on here ? I’m sure the quality of the product is decent but I’m using it for its mineral content not its sugar content. Make a true 42 cal per serving product. Until then the search continues.

My favorite and nutrient rich but . . .

I have used this brand forever and I love the flavor, texture and nutrients. I usually buy the organic. I bought this "because" the label the company shows above says it has 600 mg of Potassium, which I am low in. I use this more for potassium than iron although I do have Iron Deficiency Anemia so the iron content matters.

The low rating is not for the product itself but the company lying on the label, causing me to buy non-organic because of what I thought was in it.

One other thing I hate about this product is the bottle. You pour a Tbs and it drips all over the bottle. I am going to fix that by putting it in a wide mouth jar. Other brands, many of them, use wide mouth jars and they are more convenient for people like me who use this as a health supplement.

Oozed out although sealed

Go to the supermarket to buy. Not well packaged. Wrapped in bubble wrap but leaked inside of the bubble wrap. Was laying on its side. Likely would've been fine if packed and secured with the cap to stay up (ie secured and marked this end up.) Lost a good quarter cup. Not broken, just oozed out. Had to scrub the now partially full bottle to see if broken. Its not. It just is not a good product to have shipped. Maybe a different shipper could do better.

Product itself seems fine. Only two stars because it arrived a sticky mess! The safety seal was intact but the content had leaked out, probably about 2 inches off the top. Very disappointing.
