Love it.
Don't know how long McCormick has been making Sloppy Joe mix, but that's how long I've been eating it.
Brown 1 lb hamburger,drain fat, add Sloppy Joe mix, can of tomato paste and some water. Simmer a while.
Good for about 4 sandwiches.
Toast some buns. Put a big pile of Sloppy Joe on em.
Grab a handful of BBQ potato chips.
A bunch of napkins.
And go at it.
I've had em for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
They're even better the next day.

Not the same packaging or flavor

After searching high and low in town to find this seasoning I finally found it here and much to my surprise it was the same price as at the grocery store. My 6 year old was thrilled as she had been asking for sloppy joes for weeks.
Well, I was suspect when the package arrived and it turns out for good reason. It’s not the same. It is McCormick per the label but its not as flavorful as the normal package. I can’t say I recommend this at all.

This McCormick Sloppy Joe mix is a STARTER. Expect to add one pound of chuck and a can of tomato paste and water and NO IMAGINATION? Come on! I chop up at least two stalks of celery and add it in as well as, maybe, some fresh onion and a bit of garlic powder. Hey, add some chopped up dill pickles on occasion or add some sweet pickle relish every once in a while. Serve on a good sesame seed TOASTED bun WITH a couple of hamburger dill slices and NOW you have a winner without having to worry or fret with making your own seasoning mix. But definitely, at least, add the celery!!!!!!

The origional sloppy Joe mix has been impossible to find. The listing is for the origional. I was sent the new packaging. The new package has changes to the formula. Its not good. Not even close to what sloppy joes are suppose to taste like.

I agree with the customer who said it just tasted like tomato paste. I, too, remembered Sloppy Joe's as a kid and loved it. I made it for my kids today and it just tasted like ground beef mixed with tomato paste. I added a little garlic powder to try to add some flavor but am wondering why this "seasoning" packet didn't add any flavor at all. So weird!

For some reason sloppy jo mix in a packet is getting hard to find at our local supermarkets. My family prefers this to the cans.

This is very easy to use. Just brown the ground beef and drain. I always rinse mine to get off extra fat.

Add this mix and a cam of tomato paste and you are good to go. Just reheat and you have a classic ready to eat.

The only reason I took off a star was these are a little more expensive than at the store BUT Amazon had some. I got 10 which should last quite awhile!

This is the best sloppy joe seasoning I have tried. My family doesn't like the canned Manwich sauces, and this is very flavorful. I will keep buying, but the price is higher here than when I checked my local store, and drawback is u have to add tomato paste which is an additional expense.

was thinking this would taste like i remember as a kid. It tasted mostly like the tomato paste that you add to it plus some sugar. Wasn't very 'tasty', just sweet tomato paste. I'll stick with my wife's excellent barbecue.

mix with a can of tomato paste. tastes better than manwich- but a bit pricier when mixing with the recipe (can of tomato paste) on back. if you are trying to use up your cans of tomato paste, i suggest this product. i made vegan sloppy joes with it (bag of soy crumbles, morningstar). very easy recipe and delicious!
