How customer reviews and ratings work

Customer Reviews, including Product Star Ratings help customers to learn more about the product and decide whether it is the right product for them.

To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyzed reviews to verify trustworthiness.

4.0 out of 5 starsPerfect, for certain situations. Not without their downfalls, though.

I *love* these tips, aside from two things.

You've read countless reviews, so I won't go too much into the stuff I love about these tips, as it's all the same stuff as others have written/said. Comfy, sound great, seal great, etc.

But, I do have a few complaints about them. First, they're more difficult to insert into the ear than their silicone counterparts. That is kind of an "of course" statement, but it's my biggest complaint with them. Instead of just a simple stick-em-in-and-go, it's more a roll-squeeze-insert-holdfor10seconds-go, which is far more involved. It's usually worth it for the improvement in fit (and thereby sound quality), but it's still a PITA, and sometimes I just don't want to deal with it.

Second, cleaning these things is a pain, too. Maybe I have over-active earwax glands (or whatever makes the stuff), but even with cleaning my ears regularly (read: daily, and thoroughly), these things pick it up like friggin' magnets. And they're kind of a pain to clean. Whereas with silicone tips, you can just pop them off and run them under some water, these are foam, and that's not really ideal. Instead you gotta run q-tips soaked in alcohol through them, and taking them off/putting them on your IEMs is a bit of a pain, too.

Speaking of, these are far more fragile than their silicone competitors. You can't just grab them and pull them off, as that's a pretty good way to get the stem in the center torn right out, rendering the tips useless. (This is actually exactly why I bought these, because the ones included with my MeeAudio M6 Pros tore right out the first time I tried to remove them. No warning anywhere, so that was a lesson learned.) It's not impossible to remove and install even old pairs of these tips, it just requires a lot more attention paid to make sure you're not gonna tear them apart.

And last complaint, they suck when they get sweaty. I love to have IEMs in when I'm doing chores, like washing dishes (yes, no dishwasher right now), and mowing the lawn, and tidying up around the house, and washing the car, and... You get the idea. These activities, aside from doing dishes, usually get at least a little sweat going, and always within the ear canal. Maybe I'm weird like that, I've never taken a poll or looked into whether people sweat in their ears or not, but either way, I do. And once these things get the slightest bit of sweat on them, they completely lose any ability to grip whatsoever, and just pop right out of my ears, no matter what I do. Unless I carry a bottle of rubbing alcholo and q-tips around, to clean both my ears and the tips, which even if I did that, as soon as they went back in, I'd have maybe a few minutes before it was a problem again.

I know they make sport versions, which I imagine work better when sweaty, so maybe at some point down the line I'll buy those and see how well they work. One problem (possibly) solved.

All these complaints laid out like this, and I'm still giving them 4 stars? Yes. They are great tips, in the right situation. When my car has been broken down, and I've had to take the bus for 2 hours to get to and from work? Perfect. They block out the crazy homeless lady screaming at the bus driver, and allow me an opportunity to politely ignore her to the sounds of Desert Sessions, or maybe Portishead, or some Tool, depending. They are stupidly comfortable. They sound phenomenal (so long as your IEMs sound phenomenal). For certain situations, they are absolutely perfect. Unfortunately, for the situations in which I am typically wearing IEMs, they kinda suck a little.

If you made it this far, thanks for reading. Hopefully this information can help you make a slightly more well-informed buying decision.

1.0 out of 5 stars200s and 400s are the exact same and do not fit my earbuds.
Reviewed in the United States on August 1, 2018
So a week ago I ordered these buds with the size 400 core, and unfortunately they were far too large, by roughly 30% if not more, than my Soundmagic PL-50s that I want them for. I decided because I had already popped them open I probably couldn't return them so I ordered another set, this time of the 200s assuming that their smaller core size would allow them to fit, however not only did they not fit, their core are the EXACT same size as the 400s inspite of the fact that the packaging are clearly labeled 200 as a matter of a fact the buds are completely IDENTICAL to the 400s, to the point to where I'm not even sure what the difference is.
I am very confused, I read in the product documentation on the page that the 200 and 400 marks were for the core, if not that then what the do the numbers denote?

1.0 out of 5 stars Not worth the money

Huge improvement on the sound with these tips. Eliminates almost all of the outside noise. Comfort is just so so, could be a bit softer. But the biggest disappointment was that they only lasted 2 uses. The third time I tried to use them they were like a different pair of tips. Almost mushy. Couldn't believe the foam could break down that soon. Might be a good purchase if they cost $.25 a piece. Absolutely not worth the money.

4.0 out of 5 stars Make headphone sound great at a ripoff price

They worked great with my Monster Turbine Pro Gold’s. It fit in my ear great. The sound of my headphones are amazing now with the perfect seal in my ears. These headphones were one of the best on the market at the time I bought them. These tips brought them to a new level of enjoyment and comfort. My only complaint I got with it is the ridiculous price for some tiny foam tips and I question the long term durability. For $20 you should get lifetime free replacement. It probably costs the manufacturer 5 cents to make these and package them and they sell it at $20 for 6 tips in a package.

4.0 out of 5 stars Quality comes at a price.

These memory foam earphone tips do fit and conform to the shape of your ear canal well. They also will enhance the sound of your headphones by a good amount. The little things that you may have been missing with earphones that don't seal completely will now be more apparent. Unfortunately these earphone tips are engineered to break down quickly so they last about 30 days with continued use. Still a quality item. I haven't found a good competitor to this brand so they are charging for it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Significantly better sound over the original manufacturer tips and are also very comfortable
Reviewed in the United States on January 4, 2019

I bought these for my MEE M6 Pro that I have had for a couple of years now. Up til now i have only been using the tips that came with the M6s but decided to try new tips as the original ones were getting loose and kept falling off. I bought the Medium 200s and instantly noticed a huge difference. The bass is a lot deeper and the sound is fantastic. Only downside is that these really do a great job of isolating the sound (as IEMs are supposed to do) and so I do not hear people talking to me when I am wearing them at work (in an office setting, I am not a musician). I have the volume on my phone at about 40% and cannot hear conversations around me at all. They are very comfortable compared to the grey plastic tips I was using and have no problems using them for prolonged periods of time. Highly recommended!

1.0 out of 5 stars Uninformative and little to no customer service support.

The website has no information about the actual size dimensions of each model, and what info they do provide doesn’t make any sense.

Sent an email to the company for more information and assistance and received no response. So I just took a chance and got the 200 series. These of course don’t fit my ear buds and look way bigger than the size that is described in their dimension graphic on the website.

Returning these and getting from another company.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Shure OEM replacements, but stay on the sidewalk.
Reviewed in the United States on July 23, 2016
Size: MediumVerified Purchase
I've got a soft spot for my long-discontinued Shure E2c earphones and no matter what else I try, they just...keep...dragging...me...back...in. My last package of OEM replacement tips were either bootlegs or had gone through some orange foam half-life decay process, because they just weren't fresh (or, more importantly, pliable and elastic). But, since I hate the other Shure non-foam tip options, I decided to give these a try. The Comply's are fantastic, in a very slightly different way from the orange foam. If anything, they're more isolating, which is great for listening but bad if you have a tendency to wander into traffic, and the comfort is almost as good as the originals back in the day. I think I'm in between sizes and these don't compress as much as the orange tips, so I errored on the side of slightly smaller and it worked for me. Can't comment yet on their durability.

The sound quality of ear-buds depends completely on the seal you can get in your ear canal. With these tips, ear buds that were marginal before are great now. It's a small nuisance to have to squeeze and roll them each time, but it's worth it.
I didn't expect them to last very long, but I'm still on the first pair, and it's been quite a while now.
The M200 size seems to fit all the ear-buds I've ever had. I wish they'd recommend that size if yours aren't in their list.
