How customer reviews and ratings work

Customer Reviews, including Product Star Ratings help customers to learn more about the product and decide whether it is the right product for them.

To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyzed reviews to verify trustworthiness.

TOP 50 REVIEWERVINE VOICE
5.0 out of 5 starsExcellent Wheat Flour substitute for Keto Diets with VERY low net Carbs. Works well!
Reviewed in the United States on March 27, 2021
I am a Professional Home and Personal Chef and I also teach cooking skills. I take all of my kitchen items, tools, utensils, knives, serving items and other accessories very seriously and when I test and review culinary items, I am highly critical and meticulous in evaluating and rating them. My reviews are honest and unbiased. Good is good…bad is bad!

Recently, I decided to go on the Keto Diet that requires very minimal daily carbohydrates...usually limited to 50g/day to properly put your body into Ketosis. As a Chef, this is a challenge to come up with culinary creations that are low carb, yet delicious and filling.

This excellent Organic Coconut Flour has been a true saviour for me! I have experimented with many recipes that I have converted from wheat flour use to this flour with great and tasty results...all while keeping the carb load well below ketosis levels.

Easy to work with and finely milled, it absorbs liquid much more than other flours, so you must adjust and experiment to find the right ratio to use, but in the end, it is soooo satisfying to be able to make great food and yet still maintain that low carb level! It is also completely Gluten Free.

The flour shows 8g carbs per serving, but actually has a MUCH lower NET carb load due to the fiber load that offsets basic carbs. That means the carbs are not fully used by your body and pass through appropriately.

Great floor and superb brand. This one gets my FIVE STAR rating and a hearty recommendation. Great value price on Amazon and cheaper than Almond Flour. Bon Appetit...and good health to you!

2.0 out of 5 starsCO-co-coconut confused!
Reviewed in the United States on September 1, 2018
I'm writing this review in hopes that it helps someone else NOT end up with 4lbs. of, albeit, well priced Organic Coconut Flour...I scrolled thru the reviews..... let's face it 800+ 5star, makes you feel confident...but, there IS a weird confusion with this product. I use primarily Almond Flour, but now that Costco is no longer offering 3 lb. @$12....IT'S EXPENSIVE....I thought I would try the Coconut, based entirely on price.....I understood, being that it is Coconut, it was going to taste like Coconut....But, the same way you can hit the beach, on your first summer outing, and get excited by the memories evoked by the smell of someone's Coconut infused Suntan Oil...after a couple of hours the smell sickens you.....I like Coconut., I love an occasional Almond Joy....but, you know that lingering coconut taste that stays at the back of your throat??.....That's Coconut Flour!!!...... Lingering!!!!....I substituted 1/2 a cup in a 2 cup brownie recipe.....and I'm probably ditching the rest of the batch....the first bite was OK....But there is a grittiness that even flaked coconut delivers....For me...it's just too much....I've barely finished 2 brownies, and haven't enjoyed any of it.....It's a weird product...Sorry, I tried.....

2.0 out of 5 stars Found a bug.... Quality is questionable

You get a giant bag at an attractive price. BUT the problem is I found a tiny bug inside the flour, along with other small black specks. This makes me question if the whole bag has insect parts, which is not appealing. Is this really premium?

2.0 out of 5 stars Didn't Like the Taste, Similar to Almond Flour
Reviewed in the United States on October 20, 2020

When I was pregnant I was diagnosed with gestational diabetes. This set me off on a quest to find ways to cook healthier and within my really carb restricted diet. I tried almond flour first and it was fail (or maybe my cooking was the problem) and tried a few different recipes and couldn't get it to turn into something I could eat. Then I read that there was coconut flour and that it was sweeter (with a slight coconut flavor) and a lot of reviews of people said that they liked this better than the almond flour so I gave it a try. I even cooked the same things with the almond flour I still had so I could do a side by side comparison. It was terrible, just like the almond flour. I'm by no means a good cook, so maybe someone with some more cooking skill could use this more effectively, but I didn't like the taste or the consistency that it made the food. That said (for others debating between the two) it was different than the almond flour and slightly better tasting (as long as you like coconut). For me, it wasn't good enough to justify purchasing. The results could also be because I had to use alternative sugar as well. I haven't tried the almond or coconut flour with regular sugar in a recipe and I assume it would probably would have been much better if I could have.

No issues with this brand, and the packaging and everything was great, I personally just didn't like the taste and found it difficult to cook with. I'm happy to be able to use regular flour again. I just wanted to write this in case anyone was in the same (gestational) diabetic boat that I was in. I wish I would have just saved my money and time because in the end I didn't find any of the alternative sugar/flour satisfying.

DO NOT LEAVE THIS PRODUCT OUT LONG! Grubs/worms have made their home in my flour despite it being rolled up in my pantry. I normally refrigerate these kinds of flours but my fridge wasn't working.

The product is fine, but the "ziplock" seal is garbage and won't close. So, I've had to roll up the bag and shove it is an actual zip lock. Super frustrating!

2.0 out of 5 stars Not as expected

I purchased this flour to substitute the regular flour for baking, as I read it can be used just the same. I wasted a whole batch of cookie dough and the cookies never baked. After the indicated time for baking the cookies looked exactly as they did when I put them in the oven. Not sure what to do with the rest of the flower, just a warning for bakers that wanted to use it as a substitute for regular all-purpose flour.

2.0 out of 5 stars Okay product I guess

The product seemed good. Smelled like coconut. I had a recipe for grain free dog treats using cocount flour. The recipe seemed like nobody had any problems. However my dogs had a very difficult time processing the flour. They have had every ingredient in the treats separately and no problems. It was definitely the flour. I am afraid to use it for anything else in case it was bad.

Great product & service but has 3 months until expires. I purchased this large bag to last - so this was disappointing. Maybe it was a mistake on their part, but none the less I won’t reorder again.
