5.0 out of 5 starsStop Using Toxic Bleach!
Reviewed in the United States on August 14, 2018
I have been using Citric Acid with Hydrogen Peroxide to clean whites and remove stubborn stains in the laundry for 4 years now . What a difference. My whites come out sparkling white without affecting the fabric and it removes cooking oil and other stubborn stains on color clothing. (I use the above mentioned combo on all colors except black) Colors come out bright and stain free. After the load has been running on wash for about 2-3 minutes just add between 1/4 c to 1/2 cup citric acid plus double amount of H2O2 (depending on the load). Let it run for about 1 minute then stop the machine and let it soak for about 15 -20 minutes. Resume wash cycle. Clothes come out fresh smelling/clean, soft and sanitized ! Couldn't ask for anything better . My friends always ask me my 'secret' for keeping towels, T-shirts, etc. looking new for years! This combo also cleans/disinfects bathroom sinks/toilets and pet ''errors'. No poisonous, toxic bleach in this house!

1.0 out of 5 starsHORRIBLE PACKAGING!!
Reviewed in the United States on November 2, 2019
This company need to use a different method of packaging their product!! I noticed what appeared to be sand on my driveway (I didn't think much of it).. once inside the house, I picked the box up and and proceeded to open it (Not knowing what was inside the amazon box).. when I opened the box I saw nothing but what appeared to be a sand mound!! I took it to the bathroom straight awayand sat the box over the sink!! My box had a big order inside of it!! Everything was white.. the bag that the Cetric Acid was in ripped from one side to the other!! (My ENTIRE ORDER WAS RUINED, MY DRIVEWAY PAVERS HAS WHAT APPEARS TO BE RUST STAINS ON MAYBE SIX OF THEM, ONE SIDE OF MY THROAT BECAME SOAR (FROM CLEANING UP THE FINE PARTICLES) MY HANDS WERE BURNING -- I DIDN'T HAVE ON GLOVES-- WAS TRYING TO CLEAN AND SWEEP UP THE MESS BEFORE IT DESTROYED MY HARDWOOD AND TILE FLOORS)!!!
After all of that, I didn't make the bath bombs and my anxiety went through the roof!!
Funny thing is, this company doesn't accept returns!! (Amazon took it off my bill though)!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Cleans like a Champ!

After reading online, I decided to purchase Citric acid in hopes to clean the rust from our toilet tank caused by mineral deposits in our hard water. I emptied the toilet, filled with a bucket of hot water and one cup of citric acid, then left alone for 3 hours. Here's the results after flushing. I could not believe how well this worked!

5.0 out of 5 stars This is THE BEST product for removing hard water scale

This is THE BEST product for removing hard water scale, lime, calcium or soap scum!!

What tipped me off ( other than previous reviews?) I read the Active Ingredient list on COMET liquid cleaner and it is 9% Citric Acid, and 91% inert ingredients!!! And it costs FORTUNE for a few cents worth of citric acid!!!! I had found that COMET worked best on my water issues.

So I bought this, and using the empty spray bottle from the Comet, I mixed my own...about 1/4 citric acid powder and 3/4 water, shake well, and voila...a CHEAP cleaner that works rings around ANYTHING else I've purchased. It makes my white enamel kitchen sink SHINE, and it eats away ANYTHING in the shower. I keep a bottle handy and spray once a week...NO MORE SCRUBBING.

Smells great too. Another revelation??? LYSOL cleaner in the spray bottle is LACTIC ACID, and just a tiny percent. It makes you sick to see what they charge for a penny's worth of citric acid or lactic acid ( which I think is from milk). And Febreze the wonder deodorizer?!?!? CORN and alcohol and scent. What a ripoff!!!!

You only need a little bit to mix ...my bag will last for years!

I use this when canning tomatoes and sauce, but lately we use it daily for prevention of kidney stones. A small amount mixed in a drink or put in an empty capsule, dissolve kidney stones and keep them from recurring. My son had surgery scheduled as a last resort after months of agony, frequent trips to the emergency room and seeing a specialist. I researched natural cures over the weekend before his surgery, got him started on citric acid, magnesium and B vitamins and his pain was gone by Monday, surgery canceled! Has been a year now, and NO PAIN!!!

This is more granular than some of the citric acids I've bought on here. Kind of like generic powdered lemonade. However I use it for the dishwasher and my HE laundry and this stuff has changed my life for the better. However, if I was making bath bombs I'd want finer grain.UPDATE: The seller saw my 3 star review and reached out proactively to tell me the bag I got while not compromised in quality was a bigger grain that they usually sent and they were sending me another bag for free. When I got the new bag, it was the much finer grain that we are all used to in Citric Acid. So kudos to the seller for reaching out and admitting the mistake.

5.0 out of 5 stars I am happy I purchased Milliard citric acid
Reviewed in the United States on June 28, 2018
Size: 5 Pound (Pack of 1)Verified Purchase
I am happy I purchased Milliard citric acid. Not only do I use it for descaling, washing machine & dishwasher, and toilet cleaning, I also use it for cleaning fresh produce of all kinds. When one considers the cost of already made similar products, using citric acid is by far extremely economical and safe. No added ingredients, no dangerous chemicals. Just good old citric acid & water. It is amazing how my produce stays fresh way longer; I no longer throw out spoiled fruit/vegetables, thus saving more money. One extra thing to do when washing produce is to remember to always add the produce container to the mixture (no more bad things in/on the container). 1.) One teaspoon per quart of water in non-metallic bowl, 2.) stir until dissolved, 3.) rinse the produce with water, 4.) dump product & container into the mixture, 5.) let stand for 10-15 minutes, 6.) drain in strainer & shake off excess water, 7.) lay produce & container on a towel until relatively dry (could be 15-90 minutes depending on type of produce), 8.) return produce to container (might need paper toweling to soak up extra liquid) and refrigerate, if necessary. In between all the waiting time, I get other things done (I also set a timer as reminders....otherwise I'll go my merry way which is called ARAADS (Age Related Adult Attention Deficit Disorder). Make sure to remember why the timer is beeping!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Worked well in combination with other natural cleaners-satisfying results finally
Reviewed in the United States on July 22, 2014

This stuff is amazing for cleaning! I use a mix of this in hot water, dissolve and add hydrogen peroxide and spray on my tub scrum and hard water or mineral deposits. Then i leave the room and have the fan going the whole time. All you need is a wash cloth after that to remove the gummy grey buildup from the bottom of your tub, the walls etc. It's the only thing that works for an acrylic tub that won't scratch or ruin it. Then I use some automotive wax to seal the tub again and rain x on the walls... This works to prevent build up for about two months. Soapy washcloths can manage in between.

Now, for an insane cleaning tip. Use 1 tsp to two tsp of this in addition to your regular dishwasher detergent and watch hard water scum disappear from your dishes and washer forever. Use an eco friendly detergent and you won't need to fear residue on your dishes and glasses again. I thought my dishwasher was a piece of junk and didn't use it for a few years before I tried adding this. The dishes always came out dirty and filmy and awful without the citric acid. I gave up trying different cleaners and hand washed everything...very laborious.
Now I can use my dishwasher again with great results. My glasses are so clear!

Citric acid is my go to for cleaning, but wear gloves and have good ventilation for the hydrogen peroxide mix i mentioned.

I like this brand because it's food safe and I can also use it in canning and to add to food stuffs or sub for lemon juice in some cases.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very pleased with the quality of this product.

This is the first bag I purchased from Milliard.
I just purchased my second bag today.
I am hoping the quality is just as good as this one was.
The granulates are of the perfect consistency and mixes very well with baking soda.
It comes in a resealable bag and is very easy to dispense from.
The bottom is pleated and stands up until the end.
I'm not sure if this is a good price or not because after receiving this bag and being happy with the results
I haven't looked anywhere else.
So fingers crossed the next bag i get tomorrow will be the same quality/quantity.

5.0 out of 5 stars Less-smelly alternative to Vinegar!
Reviewed in the United States on May 21, 2019
Size: 5 Pound (Pack of 1)Verified Purchase
I had read online about using vinegar as a sort of "miracle cleaner". It descales limescale, removes odors from laundry, blah blah blah. It also occurred to me that these traits (how it can descale calcium buildup) were because vinegar is an acid, not because it's vinegar...

I bought some of this stuff expecting to use it as a less-stinky alternative to vinegar. Plus, being a powder, you can mix any concentration you want, instead of vinegar where you're stuck with the 5% concentration they give you.

I put two scoops (scoops I kept from bygone OxiClean containers) full of Citric acid in the washing machine and washed it empty on high heat. This made all the stainless steel and glass surfaces gleam like new! What's more, odors are gone.

Next, I tried one scoop in my electric kettle. Again, works like an absolute charm. Looks brand new inside, and is much quieter when it boils water. Used half a scoop to clean my Hydro Flask bottle. Again, amazing. This stuff works wonders.

I also notice that this smells very similar to CLR, the amazing cleaner, de-ruster, descaler, miracle cure product. I suspect CLR's active ingredient is indeed citric acid. Furthermore, you'll find a lot of prepackaged "dishwasher cleaners" (not Affresh but some other brands) are indeed citric acid based. Buying it this way is a more economical alternative.

Last but not least, the ziploc resealable packet is convenient.

5.0 out of 5 stars Food and beyond!
Reviewed in the United States on February 14, 2020
Size: 5 Pound (Pack of 1)Verified Purchase
I originally bought this for food use. But I've actually ended up using it more for cleaning and maintenance.

When our water softener died and had no money to replace it (new one are junk anyway) all our appliances, sink and dishware went to hell from hard water. The dishwasher was needing repairs every 4 to 5 months, food storage containers add glass were etched terribly, plastic held onto stains ac odor much worse.

Living in an extreme hard water area does alot of damage. Though this won't save your pipes it has saved us alot in repairs and replacing everyday dishware.

I run a full detergent cup of this citric acid every week, on pots add pans extra hot setting on the dishwasher. I also use it every rinse cycle. I use it in soaking water in the sink and to clean the sink and shower heads. Scrubbing the tub too. It makes cleaning much quicker when you don't have so much scale built up.
